MCP I could help you on this. I just need to know a little bit more its in geneneral. Since I am using windows 2000 pro on both of my machins. and on the second one I have also XP pro partioned on that one as wekk, Is your current machine all updated with the latest service packs and patches for it? And if it isn't try going to the microsoft updates. if it is then your okay on that part. The other thing is did you try and just plainly reboot the computer. ANd try opening windows explorer?
In some cases when the machine is left running for long periods of time there will be memory leaks in the computer. Not litereally but figuratively speaking though And sometimes it could be that it needs to reboot to clear up any memory problems that may have occured while it wa left on. With memory leaks it usually cause by programs that you use often on the computer when you close them down when your finished using them. May not have release the memory that it needed to use at the time and just got stuck there. So when you tried opening windows explorer. It just said like what you had mentioned before.
And as for that log error file that had mentioned to you when it came up. do a quick search from search files and folders. open it up with textpad or a simple text editor that comes with windows. and it'll tell you more thing that may have gone wrong with it.
Let me know if this helps you or if I have completely baffled you here.

Had the same problems. Turned out to be a version issue in Explorer. Updating to current patch levels should take care of it.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I haven't got any facts to back it up, but my theory with Microsoft is that they push you to update to the current level by allowing errors to happen.
I have noticed in cases like ours where I let my browser slip way behind the curve, that suddenly things started to occur. I got the clue when finally I got an error message that said I had to update.
I bet if you let it go long enough, you will see the same thing. I am normally way on top of updating, but I have one PC in my house that I like to have older setups on and that was where I saw this take place.
Just go to the Microsoft Update site and start downloading everything it tells you you need to update. I bet the problems stop immediately upon completing that process.

explorer.exe is the windows shell. IE or internet explorer is a web browser. My computer isint IE, its explorer.exe...If I were you and had some extra time, I'd just reformat the drive, reinstall windows, and not worry about it... If that isint an option, standard routine, patch everything you can... track the last change you made before the problem started (something you might of installed). Get a sledghammer and...(wait scratch that last one )
---as for updates, patch it as soon as you can. Win2k has some huge holes and slow downs in it that are fixed through patches. Some of the extras like language packs you do not need, but all the 'critical updates' and most of the other updates that sound resonable you should dl. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes...

Well the only thing that I can think of right now is to try it out once you install the patches and updates. Like davetron had mentioned with a similar problem he had with a version of windows. It should work without a hitch. I had a similar problem with a version of windows where I had missed a patch and all that. And sure enough the patch was there when I went to windows updates and all that. Just try that and let us knoe if it had worked for you. I know it i a hassle ti back up onto cd or tapoe for that matter. (Lucky me I have a 12/24 gigabyte tape back up that has been extremely good to me for backing up and restore on the hard drive. Took me over 15 hours to restore everything back to what was normal for me anyways. With the software, source code, files and other patches, etc)
Good luck with it and let us know.
