There are two possibilities I can think of...

eBay has a real knee-jerk reaction to thinking someone is selling something they're not supposed to (Pirated software, false advertising, etc) and their policy is to cancel first - maybe ask questions later.

I'm NOT saying you're doing this, but Big Brother eBay may have misinterpreted one of the items you're selling and pulled the plug. I've seen it happen before on other accounts.

Another thing (and this happened to me, actually) is someone comprimised your account. It happened to me about 2 years ago...suddenly I got two phone calls from people demanding to know where their $2000 digital camera was (And I was clueless about what they were talking about) Sure enough when I looked at my "past auctions" someone used my account to sell $2500 valued cameras for $2000 BIN. eBay somehow figured this was bogus and pulled the auction within 24 hours of the auction, but apparently some people "purchased" them.

In a nutshell it was about 2 months of working with eBay, PayPal and my local authorities (As well as the bidders) to get my name cleared. No one lost money thank goodness.

Oh Man I'm really sorry to hear that Davetron. They didn't even give you a reason to why they had frozen your account with them? Man that Wango Tango Foxtyrox big time. Is there a way to contacting the adminstration as to why they had done this to you outside of getting into the account and give some reason as to why they had frozen your account?

Ebay are extremely fickle. I had a couple of auctions taken off because I had the audacity to say my PS2 games would 'only work on UK systems and chipped playstation 2 systems from other countries'.

Apparently they homed in on the word chipped and figured i was selling illegal goods. :P

So I know now why I was shut out of Ebay. I finally got a note. IDIOTS! Here is my response to them. Enjoy!

I appreciate that you finally responded to my queries. At least now I know what my "crime" was to get suspended from your service. It appears that being a member for nearly six years and keeping a spotless record means nothing to you.

Did you ever consider the fact that I have done business with over 600 people using this exact email address? The fact that you can correspond with me via this email address should be a VERY CLEAR INDICATOR that my email address is in fact valid. I get all of your advertisments just fine, so how is it you decided I was not at a valid address?

The fact that your system knows that my full name is David Brian Arnspiger should be another indicator that my information is CORRECT. It's on my birth certificate too, do you want to check that?

I have had the same phone number for 11 years now, and it too is valid and correct, so I think you can see why I am just a little pissed off that I have been treated like a cheat and had my good name tarnished with my current Sellers and Bidders by your spurious actions against me. Nobody tried to call me and confirm it. I never got a request form asking that I update it, I just got shut out with no explaination from you.

You were wrong to suspend my account, I am responding to your query from below with the requested information and I expect to be fully reinstated immediately upon receipt of this information.

I did nothing wrong, and you would be well advised to investigate how a mistake like this occurred and correct it for the future so you don't do this to another blameless person.

I should also point out that I work for The Walt Disney Company. One of the things I do is peruse your site for bootleg copies of our products (Buena Vista Games/Disney Interactive) and I report them to our Legal department. I find it interesting that so many of those people are still active on your service, yet I am suspended for something I didn't do.
