Got some screen grabs from Smash TV running on MAME, did some editing in MS Paint and finally ran the edited grabs through a GIF animator program.
While not as cool as yours, or anywhere near as complex to make I imagine, my namesake does get to make his appearance!

nice avatar! that big, strong guy with the laser eyes fits you. 
my avatar is... so-so. I really have no idea how to do the "tron" glow effect, otherwise it would be better.
