No... It's the Guardsman armor from Marvel comics. I don't think the Guardsman (Michael O'Brien) was ever a very popular character, but I always thought his was one of the coolest costumes. Never could find much about him though.
I just wondered if any one here would even recognize it, Maybe fill me in on him a little.

What the--?!
I did recognize it! Take a look at the second post in the thread.
Your first post didn't ask for information on the character, but here it is anyway:

Yeah, I saw your post MutoidMan. I was answering Compucores question and expanding on my original post 'cause you did recognize it. If no one knew who it was I wasn't gonna ask about his background .

You're welcome.
Iron Man has long been one of my favorite characters, so IDing the Guardsman was a snap. "We are, after all, not God." - Cmdr. J. J. Adams "C is for cookie. That's good enough for me." - Cookie Monster "If money is the root of all evil, I'd like to be a bad, bad man." - Huey Lewis & the News

Wow... I had NO idea there were so many different versions of the Iron Man armor. Not that I ever really followed the series, I only ever collected some Spidey and Green Lantern, but wow! I had seen the more common ones like the red and yellow, War Machine, etc... But I never knew there were that many.
So here's my question (keep in mind I know very little about IM), were most of those in the "main" series, or were they each introduced in an independant IM series? (meaning, is it a way for them to get fans to buy 10 different comic series to follow their favorite character?)
Just curious. I actually quit on comics after the original Image boom. Still have a few #1s, but the last time I checked their value was pretty low...
I think the only thing I have of any value is the Amazing Spiderman where they kill off Ned Leads as Hobbie... and it ain't that much.
I guess I just got frustrated with comics as a whole, but it's always tempting to start collecting again . Don't you wish your corruption was hot like me? |

I think I have that issue where Ned Leeds is killed off... it was in Germany, correct? And Wolverine guest-starred?
I haven't seriously collected since the late 1980's. Oh, I pick up an old back issue of What If? once every couple of years, but that's about it.
Anyway, most of the armors you see are indeed the main suits that Tony wore. Usually, an upgraded model would be created if the current one was destroyed or out-classed; although there are plenty of other scenarios for the creation of a new suit.
Some are specialty armors, like the stealth and space armors, that are rarely worn.
A few are alternate universe and/or future armors.
One armor, the Somatic Combat Vehicle, is a one-off created especially for the Crash graphic novel from 1988, which holds the distinction of being the very first computer generated comic ever. I have it, it's really cool.

Man, I really don't remember Wolverine being in the issue, but he may have been. I'll have to go dig my comics box out of the closet!
Hobbie was always one of my favorites, b4 he got all weird. But I had stopped reading by then (comics, not altogether ).
All this talk has got me going, though. I may have to stop by a shop and check some stuff out.

Yep, it was Wolverine and Peter Parker getting on that plane.
They were in Berlin at the same time, completely by happenstance.
You may remember that Wolverine followed Spider-Man back to his hotel room, then popped in on him, discovering his secret identity!
How about Spider-Man jumping over the Berlin Wall -- wow, the Berlin Wall, that's going back -- and doing some acrobatics to avoid the land mines his spider-sense warned him about?
Or, Spider-Man and Wolverine duking it out in the cemetary?
Yeah, that's a great issue!
