I can’t imagine how hard it was when you were faced with that decision Sebastian. I wish 88MPH lots of luck with their projects both present and future. I was looking forward to the comic like others, but I don’t feel let down by the decision so don't feel bad. 88MPH gave it their all and I salute them for that.

We're talking about the comic book here, not the game Curtishart. Another valiant try to get me to say something useful though. Problem is, I know as much as all of you do right now! DaveTRON

I tried sending the following last night, but Tron-Sector generated an error. I guess I'm trying to post "scuzzy data" ;o) So without further delay, here goes...
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Thanks for the thoughts, DaveTRON. I agree with your phrases you try to live by... and believe me, I do try to live by them. But please know that we all falter, including myself... and I think yourself. You wrote this earlier: "DJ Aussie E, act like a grown up would ya?" This is pretty condescending. Sure, it's meant to bring 'DJ Aussie' back in-line, but it wasn't the nicest way to address the situation. And I don't feel it's very congruent with your friendly philosophy.
I admit that I assumed Sebastien was American, taught standard English. (No, I should not have assumed that and it shouldn't have been an excuse for my comments on his spelling. But one must admit that the way one speaks and writes is judged every day by others, especially in the business world. It can sometimes mean the difference between being promoted, and not being promoted. Is this morally 'right'? No. But it happens. And in a brief moment of frustration, I had that stupid mindset for a sec. Surely you've heard the 'Verbal Advantage' commercials (http://www.verbaladvantage.com)? I'll just leave it at that.)
To Sebastien - I'm sorry for my earlier grammatical comments. Now that I know English is not your first language, I'd say you write very well. Good job! Seeing as how I only speak English, I'm very impressed by those, including you, who can speak multiple languages.
It's just a little frustrating to hear such saddening news when you're such a Tron fan, you pre-ordered the comic, you like the 88MPH artwork and the rug gets pulled out at the last minute. Then, on top of this, hearing the typical "no comment" response? -- it just compounded the situation. It just seemed like a waste of beautiful artwork, which I was so anxious to see first-hand. And now I'm fearful that I'll never get to see any of 88MPH's Tron creations except for on-line. (Brings a digital tear to my eye.)
We can sit here and theorize many different scenarios of what might've happened: (1) lead artists on the project are leaving/got layed-off, (2) personal issues in Sebastien's life, (3) too risky of a project, (4) 88MPH is struggling financially, (5) etc., etc., etc. But since no one seems to really care and everyone wishes to just lay down and accept the situation, then there's no sense in further discussion.
If your hand was forced, Sebastien, and you really wanted to move forward with this project but couldn't -- or especially if there are things going on in your personal life that complicated the situation --- I'm sorry. We're all sorry. For whatever the reason, it's obvious it was a difficult decision for you to make. My apologies.
Thanks for at least taking the Tron comicbook concept this far! It's nice to see more of the Tron universe, from a different perspective. Hopefully it will still find its fruition elsewhere, at some other time in the not-so-distant future.
Take care,
-Traahn

Traahn,
I have no quarrel with you. I simply don't like what you did. I can't say I care for the "defending my mistake by trying to point out one of yours" defense either, but if it makes you feel better....
Lately there have been a lot of nasty comments here on the site. DJ Aussie E and yours in this thread were very unfriendly to someone who is a big contributor to the Tron world.
I don't think my comment to DJ Aussie E is even on scale with either of the two comments I took offense at. His comment was juvenile, and my suggestion was that he act like a grown-up. I don't find that out of line, in fact it is highly appropriate. Trying to cast it in a different light to cover your own error isn't cool.
If I screw up, I will happily eat my plate of crow and move on. There is no plate with my name on it here, and there won't be.
I appreciate your taking responsibility for what you said, but as I said to Red5 in the other fiery thread recently, don't try to make me a bad guy for calling you on your error.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill onlineorder abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Hakuna matata.
It means no worries.
I can see we could easily go in circles here. But I think it's best if we just agree to disagree at this point.
Sooooo, cheers to Tron, Tron 2.0, the comicbook art and everything Tron in-between!

A shame about the comic. It was looking good, too.
I could've easily picked it up; I can think of at least 5 comic book shops in my area just off the top of my head.
Ah, well that's the comic business.

Wow!!! I've been following this thread but until now I didn't think I had anything productive to add. Let me first address DJ Aussie E's comment. I believe he just reacted passionately about something he cared about. I don't think any ill will was meant. I also understand why DaveTRON reacted the way he did too even though it did hit me as a little harsh. There was simply no need for this tread to deteriorate into a bashing of 88MPH, something I could have easily seen happen on other boards I frequent. As far as spelling/grammer goes mine is bad enough I never think twice about someone else's and I don't have a second language to blame. Most decisions like this are made behind closed doors and all we ever hear are the end results. It took alot for Sebastion to speak out here on this topic. Let's be greatful that he's here.
Now on to something productive...
Sebastien,
I can say I truely feel for your situation. I lost my job back on Sept. 9th and I'm still looking for a job. I understand the work and passion that must have gone into this project and I have great respect for what you tried to do. Its sad that the real world often doesn't live up to our expectations. I'm sure you have the support of everyone here and should the worst happen please know that I'd be willing to help in any way I can.
I wish you all the best,
Carl

A licensing problem? O_o would this have to do with Cooper's trademark of Tron? (By the way, I've never seen it mentioned on their site and as to why they have this copyrighted is beyond me. Totally.)
...ow, so much money and all out of your pocket. Eep!

Thank you, Sebastien, for offering more information on the situation. What a terrible thing to have to go through. I hope you're able to keep 88MPH Studios and I wish you luck in everything you do.
It's not an easy world to live in. Sometimes the things we love the most, the things that are our greatest passions, hurt us the most. I can't imagine how hurt you must feel.
I wish we could know more, but alas. It's up to you all (Disney/88MPH/etc.) if more info can be divulged.

DJ Aussie E,
I hope you straightened out your brother for making you look bad and putting us all in a negative mode.
Knowing this I take back my earlier request to grow up. Your post was totally wrong, but since it was not your doing I will offer my my apologies to you.

Am very saddened by this whole 'incident' and its shockwave. But life is full of ups and downs. I amongst many other Tron fans have been eagerly awaiting this comic book release. I also realise the troubles faced by business. So lets stay positive and look forward to more future Tron based creativity.
To all at 88mph - thank you for trying to bring this project to light, and good luck with your future.

It's not easy to be a TRON fan. So many promises and dissappointments (i.e. TRON arcade @ EPCOT, Warriors of TRON cartoon series, TRON sequel, and now TRON comics). I think this is reflected in the animosity posted on this stream. There is nothing wrong with venting frustrations, but it should be done in a constructive manner. The fact that Disney released the 20th anniveristy DVD and followed it up with the game is proof that there is hope yet for the franchise. Davetron, kick a little ass at Disney for us.

D.J.Aussie I too am sorry for what I had said and would like to retracted what I had said. I hope like Davetron had mentioned that you had a good talking with your Brother about it. It made some of us look really bad for harping on you by the misprint that was sent here. In this post. I hope that in the near future if something should happen like this again.. THat it will come out for the better of us here. And that there will be no hard feeling here.
