The Black Hole

on Wednesday, January, 14, 2004 10:33 PM
YES!!!! My ebay The Black Hole dvd finally arrived!
What can I say... I love this film. The visuals and the robots is why I like it. Maximilian is an awsome henchbot. No lines at all, but he sure lets his presence be known.

I don't blame old blender hands for leaving Reinhardt to die. He was freakin nuts anyway.

Amazing you actually have to SEARCH for Disney's name on this dvd. Are they that embarrassed by this flick?order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Sigh....

I only have the VHS release. Excellent movie, I agree. The robots are very cool, but I really like the human "drones" (the crew members in the cloaks w/ the mirrored masks). Very creepy!

I didn't even know it was on DVD. I am much jealous, Sketch!

Yeah the Humanoids are neat. The masks were a great design idea to add more to the over all creepyness.

The dvd is marked 1998 so it's been out for a while. It was realeased by Anchor Bay Entertainment. Ebay was the only place I could find it. Darksaber7, if you like the film you must get the dvd. It's not jamed packed with features (one trailer, still gallery, full screen, widescreen presentation), but the quality of the dvd is great. The colors are vivid, the image is razor sharp, and the sound is crystal clear.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Anchor Bay really is THE company to go to for cult DVDs.

And u guys are absolutely right...it's FAR underrated...I think it deserves a nice, fat DVD edition along the lines of TRON's.

And no one will ever convince me that this movie doesn't have one of the trippiest, ballsiest endings in SF film history. Shades of 2001.

The Clu abides, man...

I remember seeing The Black Hole in the theater when I was a kid. Heck, I liked it so much I got my mom to buy me all the action figures! I too always thought it was a very underrated movie. I'm looking to pick it up on DVD, as well as a DVD edition of The Rocketeer, another great but underrated movie.

Remember the part in The Rocketeer when Cliff escaped the hanger by hanging off a model of the Spruce Goose? I was the only person in the entire theater to laugh when Howard Hughes says "The sonofabitch will fly!" as he watches the model gliding away, because I was the only one who knew about the Spruce Goose!

I also dug the German propaganda cartoon; it was very well done.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I have a display case like my TRON ones that has Vincent, Maximillian, Harry Booth, Hans REinhard, Dan Holland, Kate McRae and the other good guy (his name escapes me).

If interested, I will send a picture.

Ah yes, the Black Hole is another movie (Disney again, no less) that I have fond memories of, from when I was a kid. I had the Vincent and Maximillian action figures, and I probably still have the Viewmaster slides somewhere.

I had the opportunity to watch it again not too long ago, and it's held up pretty well for me . . . there's one scene in particular though, that kinda sticks out as being silly. But I won't go into that. I still enjoyed the film, and also think it's very underrated.

The Black Hole had the craziest, coolest, most disturbing ending in a movie I had ever seen. Reinhart, as Maximillian, in Hell. A Freudian/Faustian ending if ever there was one.

Come on, you scuzzy data, be in there.

All right.

I'm not talking about the ending . . . which is actually kind of disturbing. But that's a good thing. The ending to the movie is so off-the-wall, that it makes me smile. Who would've expected it?

The part that bothers me, is when the asteroids hit the Cygnus. The crew of the Palomino is riding on a transport car, and one of the asteroids shatters the transport tube they're in. The crew is eventually forced to move along the hull of the ship, as it starts to collapse. At one point, Pizer loses his grip and floats off into space.

During this whole time . . . how the heck are they staying alive? They're in the vacuum of space. No air. Impossible.

I thought about the idea that a pocket of air formed around the Cygnus as it escaped from breaches in the ship, but frankly that's bogus.

Ya know, I saw a brand new copy of The Black Hole on DVD in an orange clamshell at my local Blockbuster. All this Black Hole talk has got me thinking I really should pick it up before I have to pay beaucoup bucks for it.

Tomorrow, it is mine!

I loved the videogame to The Rocketeer. Does anyone remember it?
