Filling you in would be a disservice.

I heartily recommend picking up the original game and the two expansion packs, Opposing Force and Blue Shift. You can get all these (and Counter-Strike) in the second Platinum Collection. It is called Generations 3 on Amazon.co.uk and you can get it for £12.99.

i know what you mean. i have been waiting for seven years to play doom 3. i was heartbroken when i found out it was going to be an 18+ over here in the uk, but earlier this year i still got it. and my life will never be the same

I just got the new Nintendo DS yesterday. I bought one game for it (Feel the Magic: XY/XX) and I'm hooked!!

I'll be playing nothing but DS for the next week or so while I lock myself up in my room.

Ok, I'm going to chime in here again.

I completed the single-player adventure again this past weekend - what a ride! Yep - LOVE that game!

On the way home from work today, I picked up Metroid Prime II: Echoes. I've enjoyed all the Metroid games... well at least all that I've played. I've only had the original Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, and now (the yet to be played) "Echoes". I didn't own or play any of the hand-held Metroid incarnations. Metroid Prime was the last game I bought (TWO years ago) for my since dust collecting Game Cube. Prime was really the last game that I had any interest in for the GC.

Well, I'm very excited to play Prime II as I really enjoyed Prime. But... I probably won't even have a chance to crack the game open and play it for a few days yet

Oh well - it's there just waiting for me to digitize myself in to it and enjoy the world(s) that Samus will venture through to defeat the evil clutches of... well, whatever awaits in this one! Oh, and yes, I digitize myself (mentally anyway) in to ANY game I enjoy. For me, it's all about being IN the game. We've all seen the holo-decks and suites on the Star Trek series - well those don't exist quite yet. So, I try to mentally place myself in to the game as much as possible while I'm enjoying it.

Perhaps by the time TRON 4.0 is released, it will actually be available in some kind of beyond virtual reality and we can REALLY be IN the game then! Hey - that kind of technology is just around the corner - soon games will take place 100% cerebrally and the experience will seem as real as anything. But... will I still be young enough to enjoy it by the time it gets here? One can only hope

Awesome, I love running into other Metroid fans.

I still have to get Metroid Prime 2, but I'm currently relishing in the Metroid Prime Hunters demo that came with my DS. I'm totally blown away by the capabilities of this system. It's so much like playing the console version it's unreal, and the music is fantastic. It only makes me want more cuz it's such a teaser.

I wonder if Metroid Prime 2 is darker, creepier and scarier than the first one. I've always loved how intimidating the metroid games can be in terms of what's lurking around each corner, or when the lights go out and you're brawling with space pirates. It goes beyond gaming and turns into an experience worth talking about.

FYI, if you like the Metroid Prime music, I just recently updated my MIDI remix of the main menu theme. It will only sound as good as it's intended to on a Yamaha-XG MIDI Synth though, so if you don't have one, it will sound scarier than the original, but in a bad way.

WEll... I picked up my copy of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Wensday, and promptly popped it into my Gamecube (no school thanks to an illness) and spent the entire afternoon on it.

I'm not to sure about what an experienced Metroid fan would think, but I am lovin' this game!

I've always LOVED the Mertoid games - each one more than the previous... but Echoes has failed to really captivate me so far. Read my long-winded post in the link above to hear my thoughts on it.
