Dude, tell THAT to Microsoft. They dropped support for windows 98 which /forced/ me to have to get Windows XP Pro. Software companies have very little choice.

I read a post on the 2.0 forums about it working when you right click / save as, also.

A Tron 2.0 v1.042 update installer which works with all versions of Windows can be downloaded from http://www.boxhat.com/tronforum/misc/progs/tron-update_v1x042ceng.exe . The file is about 46MB in size. A file which describes the update in detail is included, but it is neither displayed nor installed unless you can successfully run the installer. A copy of this description file is posted at http://www.freewebs.com/tron20/ . Please read these instructions. I tried to make them as thorough as possible without being too long. They should answer most questions about the update. Even if you have Windows XP and already have the official v1.042 update installed, there are still some good reasons to download and install this update as you can see.

I put a lot of effort into this update, and it is much more polished and goes a lot farther than my previous one (which was something I slapped together in a few hours). The installer itself is much more thorough and advanced. BVI and Monolith did a good job with this update, but the game still has some problems and annoyances. So, this time I also set out to fix and improve upon the game itself although I was really limited by what I could do without source code and without breaking compatibility. The most noticeable changes are the REZ file limit improvements. See how many REZ files the game will load now for you, and post what you find. There are a couple of other annoyances in the game I think I can remove, but my efforts so far haven't been successful. I will release a small update if I get them to work.

Since I can't post the actual update installer at http://www.freewebs.com/tron20/ because the file is too large and the site also has a bandwidth restriction, I am still looking for more sites to host this update installer, so please feel free to mirror or distribute it. It is important for Tron users who need or want this update to be able to find it since it can't be found on the game's official website.

It would take you about 4.5 hours to download it. You should queue it up some night while you are asleep or during the day while you are at work or school if you can.

Do you have to sign up for Xdrive service to be able to download this? When I try to go to the link you listed I just get this error message "Sorry, but you have not been logged in properly. Please log in again. Error Code: 2151." Even if I were to sign up something tells me I'd probably have to log is as you to access this file. Am I missing something?

You should be ok with 3dgamers, wwwmwww, as long as it was just a time limit.

I also have dial up, and have downloaded pretty big files from 3dgamers without a problem.
