I think there's a pretty good chance that there will be some kind of follow-up to . If not a whole new game (to coincide with a film, as has been rumored), then at least an expansion pack.
Aside from the obvious additions: Tanks, Recognizers, Jai-Alai, and a Tron Arcade game easter egg, what else do you want to see in a future game?
I've been checking out the upcoming Matrix Online game by Monolith, and I think there are some elements they're proposing in there, that could be transposed to a game.
Apparently MO is based on a new game engine . . . but let's face it, this new engine will probably share a fair amount of code from the Jupiter/Triton engine that was used for . They're not going to re-invent the wheel from scratch, right? So any new code implemented in MO, will potentially benefit other games they develop. Like .
The main thing that interests me, is the idea of players being able to write their own code to give themselves abilities in the Matrix. This would work perfectly in a game as well. I'd really like to see something like this added, where the player can go about creating their own subroutines to upgrade themselves with new abilities.
The other thing I'd like to see, is the ability to freely roam the electronic world during some parts of the game, rather than being limited to a certain section. The best example of this is being able to hop on a Light Cycle and drive around an electronic landscape . . . exploring and avoiding pursuit, along the way. This was one of my only disappointments with .

Hmm..a GTA-like TRON game would be cool...zipping around in a light-cycle through electronic streets, stealing Recognizers, outrunning tanks, getting into disc battles...

You know, it never crossed my mind that what I was talking about, is basically what GTA accomplished. You're right, yojimbo. That's exactly the type of game play I'm looking for.
Being able to drive through city streets, or out on a giant vista or grid, with fractal mountains, energy rivers and pools, I/O Towers, ships and other things zinging by overhead in the sky . . . that's the type of thing I was hoping for. Race other light cycle riders out there, run from tanks and recognizers or other forces, go on all sorts of quests to complete objectives . . . that would be the ultimate experience.
The original NOLF (more so than NOLF 2) had something like this. The motorcycle would sometimes allow you to drive across the countryside, experiencing the environment and coming across objectives and foes along the way. If NOLF had it, so can . Just expand that by a large factor, and you've got it.

Yeah. Tank control like Halo would be cool, and piloting recognizers would be cool.
And of course, bots in multiplayer...Geez, Unreal has bots and it's way older than 2.0...think about it?!

All nice ideas, but the expansion/sequal should also tell us where the original Tron program is at

I think there should be a Tron role playing game, you could have the ability to do whatever you want, with optional missions [I nicked the idea from freelancer, in GTA you have to do missions to progress through the game]
or perhaps something in the third person, I want to be able to throw the disc like a discus, not a frisbee, y'know, turning round 3 times before you throw it
and bots in multiplayer as well, my own personal computer has no internet, but the family one does[which I am on now ] so I have never actually got to play tron 2.0 multiplayer on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online words of wisdom from...

For me, I'd love to see some direct references to the movie. That, I mean, more maps from the days of ol'. I was a bit disappointed when you entered the MCP mainframe - only to have it totally different than from what the movie had.
Plus the usual, drive a tank, solar sailer & recognizers, multiplayer deathmatch, old characters (Sark, red guards) even have a chance to fire...
...dramatic pause...

Since it's so hard to make your own character in any fps unless you've had loads of experience-
I'd like to see models for all the different characters, and then give the ablity to vary them based on head-arms-torso-legs-and even disc, so you can have your own customized program that you didn't have to make from scratch, and that programmers can just have the ability to have slightly different parts for each of the different types of characters.
Check out Jedi Academy's character create-then just add a few more things to tweak character-wise, and even check out Crystal Chronicles for a similar route...
Heck even the ablity to change the front and back of the torso would be a welcome addition to having your choice of program customization...
