I've been playing through my complimentary copy of TRON 2.0, and i've had a rather serious problem. I've just overclocked the old system, and i have to return to the lower partition (i think) and i walked over to the energy recharger, and lo and behold, i can't charge energy! I get energy from the programs i kill, but when i need to transfer energy (to a bit, for example, which i now need to do, the energy bar becomes striped and red, and though the game makes a sound like i'm giving energy, i'm not. It just sits there for as long as i hold the key, but nothing happens.
I think i may be stuck in the game, and it's a shame because there's no way i'm playing through it again. I don't have any old saved games, just an auto save and a quicksave, and both have the problem.
any help? can i do something in the console or something?

Did you skip lightcycles?
From Tron20.net:
-----
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The patch has a bug where if you skip the light cycle race in the Ancient System, you won't be able to transfer energy later in the next level.
We suggest you either:
a) play through the light cycle race in the Ancient System rather than skipping it
b) download one of the saved games to continue the game after the light cycle race. Click here for instructions (pdf).
This bug will be addressed in the next patch, which will be released shortly.

As an alternative you might want to dl the saved games from tron20.net they might set you back on the right track. Worse case, someone can im you one of their saved games. I need to replay sp, and dont have time this week. I'm sure someone has a saved game at about that spot. Good luck to you.

Sounds like the old Skip the Light Cycles Bug has claimed another one!
Seriously dude, you cant skip the Light Cycles on the old Encom System once you installed the first patch for the game. Otherwise you will be experiencing this.

By the way here is some advice for the Encom system cycle grids
1. Dont skip them!
2. Speed is NOT always the key to victory. Be the better and manuevering and boxing in your foes
3. After you defeat the first grid DO NOT Leave immediately
Cruise around while holding the BRAKE and get a shield power up. Activate it. Now cruise around and get another. That way you have one ready for when the other gets its inevitable use
4. use the green area to turbo charge into the passway between grids, this can help you get past the first two tanks and you may be fast enough upon entering grid 2 to quickly trap your first foe on the right....
5. repeat one thru 4 on grid 2.

I still wonder what's taking BVG/Monolith so long to fix this, seems somewhat simple bug.

They are tackeling a couple of projects at the moment. Devs are really busy people, I'm sure they will get it to us as soon as they can. Why would you want to skip the lightcycles anyway?

The next update will address a number of issues, the energy transfer bug among them. The devs are working on it and it will be released shortly. Thanks for your patience. ck |
