Did I miss who "Guest" is? (SPOLIERS - maybe)

on Monday, September, 01, 2003 1:42 PM
Okay, played through the entire game and during the game once I heard about "Guest" I had a feeling who it might (or should I say should be) but I think I missed who "Guest" was.

Was it ever mentioned or even implied who it was?

Guest was Alan communicating from his rigged game console in the closet before he got digitized. It did directly mention this in one cutscene, you may have accidentally skipped it or else you weren't paying attention

You were thinking it was Flynn perhaps? Nope he's off in Florida growing old after his retirement.

I was actually hoping that Guest was whoever Mercury's user is (this theory was proposed in an old PCGamer article, which said thay Programs often look a LOT like their Users (i.e, Yori looked like Lora, Tron looked like Alan, and Clu looked like Flynn). I think it'd have been cool to have Jet meet a really hot chick in the world of the computer (i.e., Mercury) and then learn that there's an equally hot user in the real world.
Alas, this didn't happen.

"Guest" is actually Christopher Guest, "mockumentary" auteur and alter ego of Nigel Tufnel. It was our way of trying to get his attention so that he would do a mockumentary of 80s new wave bands.

No, really!

lol!

I was thinking this about Mercury's User, but I guess I'll slip the user in my fanfic... er... I already did that... but I deliberately didn't name her because I thought they might already have... but...

I think it IS really amusing that Alan picked his "representative" in the computer world to be a really hot girl. Apparently he knows how to get his son's attention.

I always wondered about Mercury's user. The game almost gives you the impression that Alan wrote her, as some kind of follow-up to Tron. But that doesn't make sense, if the program is supposed to reflect the user.

I was also wondering . . . I heard a rumor a NOLF character was supposed to be in the game. Could've been one of the nameless guys in the cutscenes, maybe the silent one with the mask? (I was expecting to see Terrence Sloggins, but that guy didn't look like him. )

You know, KernelAssist.exe (who actually has two names in the game. When you see him on the outer part of Thorne's partition, he's KernelSupport.exe, and when you see him when he's lying on the ground dying, saying how there were heavy casualties, he's KernelAssist.ini) always reminded me of some NOLF2 character. Hmm.. but why? Mercury had the same filename when she got backed up. And we don't really get any indication that anything happened to KernelAssist.

Meh, whatever.

Alas...I was thinking (hoping) it would be Flynn. Would've been perfect.

His rep was a gamebot
She was the best light cycles player out there
All the IO communications from Guest seem to indicate he knew Jethro was in a computer....and seemed normal about it.
All the e-mails from/to Kevin would've been a nice buildup to Guest being him.

I knew about Alan rigging a game server with an old modem, etc...just didn't make the connection that Alan sent Mercury to contact Jethro (Yes, I think the name Jethro cracks me up.)

On another note...too bad the whole "What happened to Lora/Ma3a" side plot didn't get resolved totally. Sure there was some emails theorizing - but nothing definative.

I also noticed we never found out who's in charge of fCon. but one hint may be something he says..."I haven't waited 20 years to let this company slip through my fingers again" or something like that. Dillinger maybe? Makes sense...all the "legitimate" money he accrued as ENCOM VP would have been wisely spent investing in a small, upstart company that would eventually become fCon...where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Or Peter? It's always the quiet one.

Cliff PLEASE tell us you set that up so we can see a Tron 3.0 in the foreseeable future?

BTW, it's only been a week of sales so far, but are there any indications this will be a hit (and justify an add-on or 3.0?)where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Yeah. I was hoping to learn that Ma3a was based on Lora's personality, but that Lora had actually been partially digitized into the computer in the lab accident, and at the end they save her or something like that and bring her back into the real world. I think that'd have been cool.

I'm thinking that the never-seen head of fCon is probably Dillinger. If Dillinger does come back, Flynn couldn't be far behind... sequel/expansion pack, anyone?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Jeff Bridges didn't want to be involved in Tron2.0. Is there any truth to that rumor?

Last I read Jeff Bridges was looking at early drafts of Tron 2.0 movie scripts due to an interest in being FLynn again.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Also I dont think the game really stated who wrote Mercury.

Maybe it was Alan and he deliberatly changed the code so she'd have the appearance she had. OR maybe she was written by someone else and Alan obtained her somehow?where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online
