I don't know about the rest of you, but I would spend the $ to buy an 'official soundtrack' CD. All the music (both new and old/remixes) rock. It really helps set the tone for the game in a lot of ways.
Anyone else have the same opinion?

Amen to that. I'd buy it.
However, I remember a post in a different thread where someone mentioned a specific file type in the Tron2.0 game folder that you can extract or convert and then you'd have all the game music. I can't remember what thread it was, though. ----------------------------

I think that an "Official Soundtrack CD" would be preferable. First it's made by professionals with the nice CD Jewel Case and everything and second a lot of the times the music from games are recorded from the middle to the end to the start, instead of from the Start to the Middle to the End. You could edit it, but that would be a PITA, IMHO. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

The problem is that many of the songs in tron are more like mixes than anything else. There are several small sound files buried within tron with the exception of the title theme. So I guess as scuzzy kindasorta suggested BVI could make an offical mix for us. As for the file type its a .rez i believe, dragon unpacker can handle those nicely.

Umm...would that be considered okay by BVI? I woudn't want to do anything that was verboten by The Powers That Be.

Yeah, that was my next question.
I'm kinda surprised that Cliff and/or DaveTron haven't posted in this thread. I'd expect them to perhaps confirm/deny the existance of a soundtrack CD (because if there IS one forthcoming, then I'd imagine a lot of people wouldn't bother with the file-unpacker and such) or at least comment on if it's okay to unpack the soundfiles for personal use.
I'd imagine it's still legal, since you're unpacking and using them for personal use anyway, so long as you don't go distributing them or anything. ----------------------------

Why woudnt it be legal? You payed for the game and everything thats parts of it, from textures to sounds. As long as you dont profit from any part of their work it should be okay.
My question is, can i use these sound files as samples for music (again I dj). And I dont directly sell the music, and I would give credit to the source. Dave- cliff, what do you say?

It's just that you never know. DaveTRON himself said that you just don't want to be on the wrong side of a conference table with the lawyers from BVI.

Actually, according to most EULAs you aren't paying for the game, you're paying for the right to play the game. I mean by a literal intrepretation of the quoted text, you would fully own the game and have the rights to distribute it, reprint it, etc. Obviously you do not have those rights.
Just because you need the content to play the game, doesn't mean you own the content. E.g. If I buy Elite Force or Medal of Honor or something that doesn't mean I own the rights to the Quake 3 engine, even though the engine is technically there on the CD.
Now I know you're asking "well duh, but what does that have to do this situation." The fact that the content is not yours means you have no right to manipulate that content in any form other than playing the game. This is usually covered in the "no reverse engineering" section of most EULAs.
Though I have not investigated the Tron 2.0 EULA in detail, if it's like most other EULAs then unpacking the music from the content files is technically illegal. Now I don't think BVI lawyers are gonna go after you for doing this. However, DO NOT ever upload those files to the web and I'd be very cautious about even posting instructions on how other users of the game can get those files (because there's a chance whoever reads them may be not so cautious about not distributing the files).where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online -----------

Add my vote for a soundtrack. I would buy it, for sure. I eventually plan to pick up the original soundtrack, as well . . . if I can find it. (I'll probably have to break down and order it online from Amazon.)
Heck, add my vote for a novel reprint too, while we're at it.
But back to the subject . . . I was really impressed with the music in the game. Very reminiscent and faithful to the original soundtrack. I think it was Nathan Grigg who was mainly responsible, correct? He should get a raise or a nice paid vacation for his great work.

Don't take what I said as legal permission to do what you like. I was merly commenting that what you do personally is not where the impact lies. It's posting it on web pages and sending it to other people, like BVI, that is not so smart. Stevedroid is right on the money. You don't own that code, we do.
If you unpack it to listen at your personal computer, we're probably not going to care or know, but if we see it moving around the net, we may have to hunt you down like a dog in the street. Be smart.
