I'm trying to go all the way through using only the disc.. so far so good. Anyone else doing it this way?

o used the explosive disk for that part, and for most of the game as well.

Nah, gimmie that LOL with the Gold Triangulate Subroutine so I can pick off my targets from far, far away.
Oh, and a fully charged Suffusion Rod. *Big Badda-Boom!* 
But I found that the explosive disk had too much potential to cause damage to civilians, which is bad. I like the Sequencer, though. Lots of disks to throw!

i think you should try and beat the game using primarily melee attacks

Sure, but that's no fun. Give me a variety that I can choose from. Like I said, there's nothing like sniping a bad guy from 1000 paces.

Except for the portions of levels you are forced to use the rod or variations therein, I used exclusively the disc, and later the cluster disc (and tried out the sequencer once and a while). NEVER used the ball, or variations therein, and NEVER used the mesh.
You could DEFINITELY do the sniping part of the game with the sequencer, because each of those ICPs only have 1hp, or something therein. I just didn't bother.

The testers at BVI could beat the sniper section of the Power Oculus level with the disc or ball primitive.

When you've played the game literally hundreds of times, you need to do something to challenge yourself 
Unfortunately my 40-year-old reflexes force me to rely on cunning and treachery. So I use the LOL.

Isn't it explained in the Manual what LOL stands for? Maybe it meanst Long-range Ocular Loadout?
