PC Gamer UK gave it 80%, the reviewer, Tim Edwards enstated that it was a good game, possibly the only game that looks better than its movie, however he didn't like the intricate puzzles involved.
Basically, he prefers shooting, take this as it is, i disagree slightly with his review, but its a good review nonetheless.

I'm also ecstatic about the reviews Tron is getting. I think this is mainly because when the film first came out, it dealt with subject matter that was VERY new to the public. Many people didn't even know what a program was. I always thought the world was ready for another Tron incarnation seeing as how computers are so mainstream and now that it's happened, it's a godsend for us :-) I only hope this means more Tron related incarnations in the future (film and game sequel, etc)where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I cannot see how the game can be anything OTHER than a hit at this rate. It's getting universal praise from all sorts of publications.
Forgive me for stoking your egos, guys, but right now, it looks like Tron 2.0 has GAME OF THE YEAR written all over it.

It's so awesome that Tron 2.0 made it to CNN.... and that was a cool review as well.
When 'Dragon's Lair 3D' came out, there was just a few good reviews about the game. I was rather mad. Not just because I'm a fanboy, but the game (this is just my view) was great. I really enjoyed playing that above most 3rd person shooters.
When Tron 2.0 was in dev. process, I really didn't think the game mags would understand it... Thankfully I was wrong.

This is a tad off topic but Qix, u mentioned Dragon's Lair 3D. I got that game recently and like most ppl who did, I'm having problems with it (no sound but with music, the DirectX issue). Since UBI Soft's Tech support is as useless as tits on a bull, did you have this problem? And if so, how were you able to fix it?

Unfortunately it won't be game of the year. Most likely will be Deus Ex 2, which is earning much acclaim for its high graphical content and shadow work. I would also have to agree. WMain00

Don't let great reviews cause you to think Tron2.0 is a sales success. Descent 3 in 1999 got rave reviews and sold a world-wide total of less than 50,000 copies. Outrage lost over a million bucks on the game, and has since gone under (Courtesy of THQ).
It's the Publisher that determines how well a game goes in sales.
For Descent 3 - that meant "Interplay" and Interplay spent precisely dick promoting a game that consistently outrated Quake 3 in reviews...
It doesn't matter how good a game is, if the publisher doesn't lavish MAJOR money pimping the game internationally, then it will flop.
If the Interplay example doesn't show publishers what happens to solid companies that fail to spend large dollars on promotion, then they are destined to repeat the same mistakes. *sigh*

Descent 3 was indeed a sales failure, but not because of a lack of advertising.
D3 failed because Parallax/Outrage took too long to bring D3 to market. They should've modified the D1/D2 engine one last time and finished the trilogy in 1996/1997 instead of 1999. I believe we would been anxiously awaiting D5 by now if they hadn't taken so long.
The 6DOF FPS genre was exciting and new when D1 came out. D2 followed hot on D1's heels and built on D1's success. In fact, D1 was so successful that Acclaim tried to grab a piece of Interplay's pie with Forsaken. Now, we know Forsaken failed and D2 succeded. However, I guess because Forsaken failed no one else really tried to copy the Descent series and keep the 6DOF FPS/VS genre alive. Possibly, the other companies figured that only Parallax/Outrage could create that type of game successfully. More likely, they saw the kind of money that games based on the Quake II and Unreal engines were making and naturally went in that direction. In the time it took to produce D3, the genre had been abandoned and was regarded by most as a curiosity.
Also, it didn't help matters that nobody used the D1/D2 engine to create any other games. When other companies use a particular engine to create new games, it keeps the engine & original game in the front of gamers' minds while earning the company that created the engine more recognition and more money.
So, when D3 finally came out it really only mattered to the relatively few fans of the original two games and not to very many other people. That, plus the fact that D3's poor reception didn't earn D3's Fusion engine any customers killed the Descent series.
