If you're a fan of the TRON movie, you won't be disappointed with this game, it has a lot you'll enjoy. If you're an action fan looking for non-stop fighting and huge explosions, you might want to check out the demo first to make sure you know what you're getting into.
I think that sums up the review at IGN, perfectly. It also sums up the attitude of gamers, I've seen on various message boards. Unless you've seen the movie, and are a fan, people just don't seem to "get it".

Clearly, the reviewer was looking for more action. So because of that, he was a bit disappointed. He also said, after re-watching the movie, he didn't know what he really saw in , originally.

See, I don't have those problems. First of all, I still love the movie. And doesn't have to be a frag-fest. I like the adventure and RPG elements it will have. I don't always want to be blowing stuff up, as much fun as that is. It's nice to take a break, and do some tasks or puzzle solving, once in a while.

In fact, I didn't mind the jumping puzzles in the demo that much. Normally, I hate them with a passion. But somehow, in , they're not that bad. The only thing I agree with, is when he said that you don't have to fall very far, in order to de-rezz. I don't like that either. You'd think Jet, being a program now and all, could handle falling farther than in real life. Oh well.

As for the weapons, can't comment on that yet. I thought the mesh blaster was pretty useless at first too, until I upgraded my primitive charge subroutine. Then it was a lot more effective. I'll bet that with everything upgraded to gold status, the blaster will become a good weapon. Still, the disc is clearly the weapon you'll be using most.

About enemies sneaking up on him . . . well yeah, it's annoying. But let's face it, there's no reason why it shouldn't happen. I mean, you can do the same to them. And, unlike the reviewer, I have been able to successfully sneak up on an ICP and let him have it, with the rod primitive.

I think he's bellyaching too much, about the fact that this isn't Half-Life 2 Lite. Go back to playing Counterstrike and Quake deathmatches, fella!

He's off on his rant about jumping puzzles.

There's a grand total of 2 jumping puzzles in the game that MUST be undertaken by the player to progress. The remaining dozen or so are all voluntary tasks that lead to upgrades or build notes.

Second, I just don't think he gets it.

Hmm.... the review didn't really change my opinion on whether or not I'm gonna buy the game (gonna check out Target again and see if they got it in, and maybe call the local Wal-Mart which is a few miles away. I don't really wanna bike through the rain all that way just to find out they don't have it...). I'm pretty easy to please. I LOVE the demo (I've beaten it like... 12 times, on all difficulty levels). That being said, since I beat it on Insane without any challenge at all, the game might be a little "easy" for me (I'm a FPS junkie). However, so long as I enjoy it, that's all that matters.
