In case you guys don't know there is already an awsome Tron based
light-cycle game called armagetron. In my opinion the gameplay is better than the Tron 2.0 demo.
You can find it at http://armagetron.sf.net .
Like all of the best software on the planet, it's absolutely free.
P.S. Download the movie pack, it's altogether worth it.

If you haven't already, you may want to check out "LIGHTCYCLES - Game Grid Champions." The 3D models and arena are the closest to the movie that I've seen.

Hehe, I showed a couple people in my school cmmon room armagetron and how cool it was, then we got into some networked games, then the whole common room was engulfed in armagetron madness, like up to 15 people all netwroked into one game, with a computer each. it was a true tron day.

I havent played Armagetron. I do have Game Grid Champions, and based on the Armagetron screenshots, GGC has the realism look of the movie. I'll haev to check out Armagetron to check out the gameplay value.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

The moviepack allows you to bring custom textured models into armagetron as cycle.ase & bike.png
The graphics & sound files/folders are open for reskinning/modding,any novice/pro game devs out there?
Theres a new version called armagedtron advanced that a ton of developers work on, version 2.7 has a ton of new featuers in the HUD part of the gui, etc.
Heres a view of a recognizer model I made for the game, it's edges glow the color of your choice
And a timmy that yells his name when he turns

Is Timmy for the new version? Are there any direct links you can list here for downloading the new Armagetron, recos, and Timmy?

its a little less laggy than it used to be.. & higher fps on modern hardware doesnt hurt.
it takes a little getting used to.. especially the lag if you want to play it online, but i love the game.. dont ask me!
i am dialup & the lag doesnt really bother me much anymore.
i like to use a custom camera too..
dunno, its an interesting game anyway.. & theres always someone online to play.

Well, that's cool! Playing online games used to drive me nuts, in general, with 56K. Especially Tron 2.0 when everyone would run circles around me and kill me barely after re-rezzing :P

So I got all the stuff (thanks!) and I got everything going except for Timmy.
The mod installed fine and the redesigned lc's look sweet, but where and how is the Timmy mod installed?

you unzip timmy cycle.ase & bike.png or whatever to /moviepack/ folder
if you want him to have sound unzip the .wav to the /moviesounds/ folder
U may have to install armasmegmod on top of moviepack to get timmy to have sound,... dunno
