Yea, they're still on a KOTOR kick. I suspect when Tron 2.0 is released we'll probably see at least one cartoon based on it.

Geez I wonder what changed their minds about it. Remember not too long ago. They hated it like the dicken.

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

Kia, I have to disagree. Tycho's not changed his mind or been hypocritical on anything. We're talking about two different demos here, the later one with improved netcode, which was, I think (although he avoided going into detail at the time), Tycho's main beef with the first demo. At least now he's calmed down and is willing to elucidate:

The Disc Arena mode in the earlier demo was highly unsatisfying to me, as you might recall. The disc and controls did not reach the levels of responsiveness I required to feel like a digital bad-ass, even on low ping servers - my hand would make a throwing motion, and the disc would appear at some point in front of me.

Noticed the same thing, and it was enough to get me to leave MP alone for a while, as most of the servers out there were 200+ ping (living in Australia can be a bugger at times).

The range of the combat kept it from feeling intimate or dangerous.

The distance did seem a little extreme at times when you only have discs available. Yeah, you have the floors and all, but they only pose a real risk to an on-the-ball player when you have multiple players on each side; considering that Tron 2.0 might wind up as something of a niche game (maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think the Tron brand is strong enough these days to attract the sort of crowds that games like BF1942 have, and those who buy it will probably be in it more for the single player), it's not safe to assume you'll always have those kinds of numbers on a server.

The new multiplayer demo is responsive, clean, and plays better than the old one even at pings twice what I had before. It includes an arena that feels a bit more true to the ones in the film, and I also prefer the layout of the destructible rings that make up the playfield.

So yeah, no changing of mind or hypocrisy as far as I can see. To Das Tycho, the old demo was, and still is, a disappointment, at least to him. The new one, in his opinion, is much better.

It took him too long for an explaination. I still am boycotting PA because Tycho DID NOT give an explation. He just called it "shit". I demanded an explation. Only I would finally get one... TOO LATE! I still refuse to read PA because I feel that people behind webcomics should NOT personally bitch about a game or something just because. It should be about whatever they're trying to sell the webcomic as.
Their lack of ethnics disappoint me very heavily. I am not going to rant about PA again. >_< Alright? I'm just frustated because it took Tycho THIS long to throw out an explaination. Sheesh.

Hey folks, long time lurker, first time poster.

I was somewhat pissed off at Tycho for implying that the original MP demo sucked as I was enjoying the heck out of lightcycles at the time. So I wrote to him, and he cogently defended his viewpoint. I had to agree with him that the Disc Arena portion did indeed have problems. (Lightcycles was also not bug-free.)

I was pleased when he called the new GameSpot demo "scrumptious" and I wrote to him and told him that, and he wrote back and said that the Disc Arena portion was much more playable and fun, and that the single-player levels looked great.

I think everyone's entitled to their opinions. But webcomic creators tend to be pretty responsive to their audience, and appreciate the feedback. If you've got a beef with Tycho (and apparently you do) drop him a line, don't just hold a grudge for all eternity.

Heh. Only if I had thought of that. :P

Although, I'd have demanded the explaination on the website, rather via email for people to see and understand.

Tycho not having done so sooner enough made him look really bad to some people, including me.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online
