The word is that an editor will be included on the disc with Tron 2.0, so we here at Tron-Sector are getting ready for it with new Forums for Design topics.
Can't Wait!

Very, very, very, very, smart move.... It's the very thing that kept Unreal alive for so long... As a current personal map dev. for my own UT2k3 game, I'd stop everything in a heartbeat to make a TRON map..
Wow... If only everyone else could understand the importance of this message.... I pray that it is to be.
Thanks again, Auric.

Double plus good! Have you heard if said editor would require us to share our completed avatars in order for them to be viewable in game by other players?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a character create/mod ablility to take a base program or babe-tron and click and drag different things to the body-such as armor on one side (or both) like on the arms chest and legs, helmets of different types or different hair to pick from, and your own choice of color to set to once you picked your accesories? You could even have different skins for the face to choose from, and even be left a blank one for the face (same for the armor) to paint or apply over with a set armor, such as Tron's or Yori's
I know I can draw what my program would look like on the other side of the screen, but clear examples of character modding in other games show me that creating that from scratch would be pretty difficult. Even those who have made their own characters have redone them to make them look sharper and more authentic. (and especially, cleaner looking)
I'm just making my wishes heard. Just like you can add nodes to Jet to modify his character, the ability to have ready made nodes for character creation would be a gift from the Users.

That's a very groovy idea.
I know that it's going to take me forever and a day to get Scuzzy setup in . I would think that others who have made custom models before would be very comfortable but up to this point I've never felt the need or desire to do so. I do now and my learning curve is going to be exponential! abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I can do decent skinning, but modeling would hurt because the ideas I have for Kia and Caila would require quite a few polygons because they have long hair. ^^;

I can model whatever you need. The problem being is will it be compatible with Tron 2.0? Highly unlikely considering that the level editor is working in conjuction with Maya. Kia as far as your character goes i'd have to see a pic to give you an idea of how complex it'll need to be to best represent it.

Is it just me, or were we not given the tools to modify character skins and create new characters?

We have all the tools that Monolith ever publicly released to create new character models and textures. But, creating new characters is not easy to do, and you will need to find an old version of Maya or 3DSMax to do it.
