YES! Today I did my imormative speech on for my speech course!
Got an 80 outta 85!!!! WHOOT WHOOT!
Armed with a couple of transparentcies I printed out at home my speech came out to a total of 7 minutes and 43 seconds! Speech time had to be around 6-8 minutes.

Whew, so glade that's over now. Man I was nervous.
Made a reference to this site since I used some info from the Rolling Stone "The Secrets of Tron" article and the VFX Pro "Tron, Revisited" article. So glade that info's here.

I know I wouldn't be expecting a speech about TRON!

I got a great applause from the class. Glade too, cause class reaction affects part of the speech grade.
I basically divided the speech into 4 main points.

First point was about Trons creator, Steven Lisberger. (used transparensy of him sitting in his directors chair with a tron helmut on)

Second was about the 4 cgi companies that helped with . MAGI,Triple-I, Robert Able & Associates, and Digital Effects Inc. (used transpancies showing what vechiles or schenes each company did)

Third point I talked about how advanced was with it's computer special effects.

Fouth point I talked about Hollywoods reaction when was released. Remember the Film Awards saying Disney cheated when they used computers? I used that and made the point about how Hollywood was slow to accept Tron and cgi special effects.

The conclusion I used a clicher ending. I used a direct quote from John Casseter, Director of Toy Story. “I think it will always stand as the milestone in computer animation. I mean, without Tron, there would be no Toy Story.”

I'm still getting compliments from class mates about how well my speech was. I heard from a faculty member that my teacher was actually bragging about my speech!
My speech must come off better than I thought it would cause to make my speech teacher brag is hard to do the they say. Alot of the other student didn't put much effort into their speeches, I hate to say. Some didn't even reach the 3 minute minimum and were not organized.

Yeah, I sure do.

A girl in class did a full speech on the history of Disney Land. I think that was the best speech outta the whole class. Fun fact I learned from her speech. When Disney first opened, it was so hot that day that peoples shoes were getting stuck in the parkinglot asphfalt that was melting cause of the heat.

There was others about farming, diabetes, learning disabilites, asthma, and I forget what else.
