Glow powder

on Wednesday, March, 19, 2003 11:09 AM
I just came across a site that sells 'glow powder' that you can add to other substances (paint, glue etc) to make it glow in the dark. Apparently it's a lot brighter and longer lasting than the old-style 'snot-green' glow in the dark products and is available in some lovely Tron-like colours.

I was wondering if anyone's ever tried using this stuff for a costume or similar. I'm considering using some in my room when I redecorate soon. I'm thinking of highlighting all the corners and edges on the walls in various colours.

It certainly seems to be the best solution for getting the correct circuitry designs while providing a decent glow. The next best thing I've seen would be the electroluminescent wire which, while providing a decent glow, isn't able to mark out the circuitry accurately due to its uniform width. I'll probably order a few grams of the stuff next payday and have a play with it. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post

It's almost enough to make one want to get a black Lamborghini Countach and give it an Automan make-over

Yeah, I've been researching prices on glow powder, paint and even glow tape myself. I'm planning on painting my Tron action figures and even creating a "playset" that glows in the dark and installing other various special effects. It should be a fairly large project and something fun to do.

So here's the places I like to visit for things that glow:

and TRACE, you mentioned glow in the dark contact lenses, well here ya go:

I dunno. I'm fresh out of creative ideas.
