Why is this site a dead zone??

Greetings! Probably because the site got disbanded and neglected from behind-the-scenes. Every time you visited the past 5 or 10+ years, a warning would pop up before logging in saying the site was not secure. There was spam all over the place. Old posts and private messages would get tagged with spam messages, even ones from years ago. A lot of new threads were just spam with hyperlinks to who knows where. Stuff like that.
Tron communities popping up on Reddit, Facebook, and others likely haven't helped things here, but the site spam was and still is definitely an issue keeping many away from Tron-Sector. Since spam/hackery issues have dragged on unchecked for years, running rampant, there's not much sense in frequenting. Also, leading up to all that was Tron Legacy creating some divisions here in the community in terms of what people wanted to see (old school vs. new), what people wanted to talk about, different temperaments, different approaches to disagreements, etc. Slight fracturing of the community, so some bailed
Through all that, pretty much almost everyone has left. Not to mention, the initial Tron 3 got canceled shortly after Tron Legacy came out, and any official video games surrounding Tron Legacy were not what Tron franchise lovers wanted to see. Plus, the typical Tron franchise 'new movie' rumors of "green lit, canceled, green lit, canceled, possibly green lit" that has plagued the franchise for decades got tiresome when it started happening after Tron Legacy, too. So, an overall feeling of abandonment of the franchise (again) for years... except in the theme parks... with Marvel and Star Wars movies and shows taking over the world and a lot of Disney's cinematic attention for 15 years... I feel that also helped snuff the energy out of the franchise through time. Not as vibrant of a community here, which used to flourish with ideas, speculations, reminiscing, and the like.
Many factors. Hard to pinpoint just one. I don't claim to know the exact science of it all, but hopefully that brings some perspective.
New trailer looks pretty awesome. Looking forward to it! Hopefully with Marvel and Star Wars fatigue that many are experiencing, Tron: Ares will be successful, be a breath of fresh air, and will breathe new life into the franchise for years to come.
And I hope a new Tron FPS type game inspired by Tron 2.0 can be made for the franchise. I'm tired of all the simplistic arcade-feeling Tron games that have come out, focusing on parkour, lightcycles, or the recent graphic novel-type ones. The

universe is perfect for a deep, expansive, sophisticated, first-person adventure; and yet we get parkour as a focus and selling point, or a rushed game lacking any depth simply to coincide with a film launch. (As if the only thing people see in Tron is flashy neon lights and so we have to make a video game equally as shallow... sigh.)
