I think there were three but I only saw two of them being used. Opinions?

I saw two used, but in far away shots, looked like three and we're not even counting the upside down track.
Forget it, Mr High and Mighty Master Control. You aren't making me talk.

Similar to this, I found the fact that Rinzler vs Sam disc warred like they were still inside a cuboid disappointing, when in fact there were multiple levels and ramps in the room. Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't really see much intelligent use of the lightcycle grid "levels" either...

Good point.
The ramps in the room were probably just "edges" made by each arena forming. Maybe Rinzler just wanted to show off quickly and get Sam out of the way. Ramping would've made the scene more confusing anyway.
Lightcycles however . . .
More room? I see how sneaking up on a program while you're under and he's over and vice-versa makes it more of a wit/tatics fight . . . and harder for the stadium audience to see what's happening.
It kinda just serves the sequence. Clu's kicking everyone's butts, Sam stayed low to insure his life expectancy. When he sided with the other Light-cylist, he developed a strategy.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Hmm, I want to believe you but it sounds like making excuses for genuinely poor choices.

Not to belabor the Inception comparisons, but I think that movie proved multiple elevations and changing gravity can be done without losing the viewer. If Inception hadn't been made, I would have still argued this point, I just wouldn't have had a good precedent to base my point on Putting the ramps there and not using them reminds me of showing us the vintage lightcycle that got donated to a hobo - it promised and didn't deliver. That's how I read it. I will say it was nice to see him defeat the first two programs, like three dimensional pong.

Disagree, the floors are transparent and I'm not talking about moves so quietly brilliant that nobody would have caught it. Another precedent: Matrix Reloaded freeway scene.

Yes, but the sequence would have been even better served with better choreography. It was a bit on the conservative side, and the blue programs barely(or didn't) put up a fight. The scene IS great to watch, but aside from the videogam-esque levels, which I thought was brilliant by the way, it kind of rode on the novelty of lightcycles. And you might argue that Sam was inexperienced, but I thought the movie was trying to sell the point that he really was a great rider and at least a decent gamer.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

What ramps in the disc wars? The sloped sides to the enclosures? Because that's all I see, that the enclosures are sort of a wide hexagon with the sides sloped.

(I dunno. If I were in the Games, subtle and brilliant strategies are the last thing I'd think about. If it was just a game, sure, I'd be more likely to make it into an art. If I were there just to stay alive, I'd do no more than necessary to ensure that. If that required some sort of strategy to get past the other guy, then fine, but doing so just for showmanship and to play to the audience? No way.)
What do you want? I'm busy.
Program, please!

Again, sounds like making excuses for doing less when more could have been done. Even if we assume none of the blue programs have any idea how to play the game, the black guard aren't quite as bound by these restraints - they have superior lightcycles have more experience/built-in skill and should know how to outmaneuver the programs without resorting to fancy gratuitous moves or strategies bordering on genius. We also know that mortal fear doesn't cause Sam to freeze up or play on the conservative side - just look at the way he improvised in the disc wars.
You and I both know that if we sat down to really brainstorm inventive ways to choreograph the lightcycle grid, we'd do at least marginally better.

This is about the light-cycle grid, not the disc games. However, one thing I liked about TL is that the director had the GUTS to show what was going on upside down going on upside down *without* doing the predictable move of turning the camera also upside down to better follow the action. To the half million programs in the arenas, the action in both games was seen with the warriors upside down, so it was smart for us to be shown it in the same way.
While we're at it, what, aside from making a cool, retro-gaming sound when they went over them, did riding one's lightcycle over the chevrons accomplish? They didn't gain any increased speed or abilities as a result, did they? And I didn't get the impression there was any score being kept so they couldn't have scored points for them. The only point you're going to score in that game is that maybe you managed to walk away with your life and either be set free or forced to play other sinister games until you're derezzed. The programs had to have had some motivation to win rather than just get it over by bitching out and throwing themselves into some ventilation fan, so maybe what they could have scored for winning was the classic gladiator's reward of being granted their freedom.

Agree with that. Even if CLU's only goal for having the games was to draw Flynn out, the games should have at least partially resembled games (disc wars excepted).where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

It appears.....nothing. If you look at that spiral thing that CLU and that other rider charge at each other on as CLU rides it down and he rides it up, you can seemingly see stars through the middle of it rather than the lined pattern of the three levels of the LC grid, so it goes through the grid itself. I think we get another glimpse of this in another area of the LC grid too.
If you fell off the spiral ramp, would one fall forever into that star field? Why are there no clouds and lightning down there as in the sky over the grid? Or is there something else down there? I guess rather than fall forever, a program could take off his or her disc and eat a nice big serving of suicide sandwich by sticking it in their mouth or something.
And why were there no female contestants in the games? Are errant or rebel programs only men? I doubt it.

Okay during my weekly watching, I note that the third level is indeed used! OKay, remember when Sam parts ways with his lightcycle ally to bait that enemy rider? When Sam goes down that ramp, he dips down on to the third level momentarily before he and that other guy join together on the second level down where they make the bad guy eat grid. And BTW, the same tactic was used by the good guys in TL!

What I gather from successive viewings is that there are four level;s. If there are more, that's apparently a minor point since any more than that aren't used in the LC arena. I still wanted to see Flynn himself kicking some ass in the games. There was time for that (if they cut out the infamous "talky part"). I wanted to see if Flynn could still split some wigs with the best of 'em in the arenas. Instead, other than rescuing Sam at EOL club, he doesn't really do much aside from just kind of act as a passenger on some cool vehicles. Him flying the LJ woulkd have been a better choice than Quorra.
