My understanding is that the lights are not staying on when you push the button.
On mine it did. If I push the button down a little harder again, it turns off.
I can turn it on and off with the button push (push for on, push again for off):
My disc continuously "on":
Trying to turn it off. I managed to by pushing the button again a little harder. It got easier as I used it.
I looked in back and it seems that the bottom rear screw (closest to the hinge) is not torqued down flush to the back (see other screws).
It may be the case that if the screw is torqued too much, the switch won't stay on.

For me, who collects TRON Home Video releases, yes...
I only opened this one to try to turn it off, as well as I have to take the batteries out for storage... need a "play" copy anyways (I have a lot NISP).

Decided to open mine as I have to remove the batteries for storage. I put the discs in slim cases as they are my "use" copies...

I finally got my Ultimate Edition 5-pack today. I am having a similar problem with the light-up feature, except mine won't stay on. The screw that holds the battery cover on is stripped (it was like that when I got it, I could press on it and feel movement back and forth like the screw wasn't tightened down) and it won't tighten down the cover all the way. It's almost as if this is a used copy, or something. I haven't checked Amazon's website yet, but does anyone know if they will do exchanges? It's kind of irritating since I spent so much money for this "Ultimate" pack and I'm a bit disappointed with the cheapness of it.
UPDATE: I found the returns/exchanges page on the Amazon site and I can indeed exchange it for another.

All you need to do is loosen the screw closest to the hinge.
But if your screw to the battery compartment is stripped - there's no way to replace the batteries.
Amazon is pretty good with exchanges...

I imported mine to the UK and sadly it wasn't worth the cash. The light up box is ok. Had no trouble accessing the discs, not much force was needed. I worked out that to keep the light on, keep pressure on the button. But, the whole thing looks like it was done on the cheap. The sticker to the base is out of alignment and looks rubbish.
It looked so promising on the advertisement

To send it back would be more trouble than it's worth. If I lived in the US it wouldn't be a problem.
I got past the packaging issues, only to find that the Tron Legacy Blu-Ray disc isn't working! :O Panasonic users have been experiencing problems. "Classic TRON" is great. Works perfectly and looks stunning.
Hopefully, some firmware update might address the issue.

Why do you say that? Do most people not like the disc set? And too bad they are not cheaper than $160, thats a bit to much for me at this time.

I don't know about others, but I like mine just fine. I am, however, a little cheesed about the storage method. A simple spindle works fine for fresh stacks of DVD-R's, but for a collector's edition that might get moved around a bit, it means inevitable scratches because of contact with the reading surface. actually ya most people dont. you can look anywhere, like threads in other sites, or the comments in youtube reviews of it. they hate it. but i think it's great and still hell of a collectible. that 160-dollar price is evidence hehe
