Hi Tron Legacy fans!
You surely remember the scene where Sam uses a Nokia N8 with a door code cracking app to unlock the electronic door.
We developed an app for Nokia Symbian touch phones, (works on the N8 and older touch phones), which tries to look as faithfully as possible like the one seen in the movie.
We posted a video demo on youtube, and we posted a preliminary version of the app which you can download for free. (see the description of the video for download link and how to use it, which unlock methods it supports etc)

We submitted it to Nokia Ovi Store and hope that it will be published soon.

It looks good, unfortunately I can't use it as I have a Nokia 7310 Supernova (not a touchscreen)

the Nokia 7310 is a Symbian S40 phone. S40 is not so powerful like Symbian S60.
The requirements for our app is Symbian S60 5th ed (Symbian touch like 5230, 5530, 5800, N97, X6 etc) or Symbian^3 (N8, C7, C6-01)
As mentioned in our other posting, we uploaded a new video where our app runs on a Nokia N8, and the "movie effect" is much better as when running it on older Nokia phones

When we saw the Tron Legacy movie, being Tron fans and mobile software developers, the urge of "I want that app on my phone too" was too big, and after a quick search on the net and realizing that no such ready to use app existed, we implemented our own one and thought Tron fans will certainly enjoy it to have Sam's code unlocker on their phones too

Hi all.
No, it does not really unlock doors It would not be a legal thing to do and there are zillions of types of electronic doors and to break in you would need custom hardware and software for each type of door. Only in the movies everything is simple
We just wanted to recreate the Tron movie effect with the app.
about an iphone port:
the app is written using the Qt GUI framework which is not available for iphone (yet), so the app would need to be rewritten from scratch. It would cost us money and time to make the port.
Apart from that, since Nokia paid for the product placement of the N8 in the movie, we think it's fair that the app runs only on Nokia phones.
After all the N8 is an amazing phone and offers much more bang for the buck than iphone or android phones.
As you see with Nokia we can quickly develop and release apps without Nokia's approval while on Iphone you have to beg apple to include your app in their app store, and if their mood is not good it will get rejected.
BTW we posted an updated version of the app with an help text and new, faster unlock methods to avoid the app getting too boring and save precious seconds when unlocking
All the instructions are in the help text within the app (click on the Info button).

Hi all,
we uploaded a new version of our Tron Legacy door unlocker screensaver app (1.0.0).
We fixed a bug where on certain firmware versions of the N8 the settings window was not showing up maximized thus prevented the user to use the app fully.

Finally the Tron Legacy Door unlock simulator screensaver app is on Nokia Ovi Store. Compatible with all Nokia touch models, new (N8, C7, C6-01, E7) and old ( 5230, 5800, N97, N97 mini, X6 etc)
