I noticed TL had a TON of things in it that were either coincidentally shared by other great films, or they were put there on purpose.
In TL, the movie is not in 3D until he's in the Tron universe. In Wizard of Oz, the film is not in color (which was THE SHIT in it's day) until Dorothy makes it into Oz. Hmmm.
Doesn't Flynn's apartment look very close to the end room in 2001? I almost expected the Star Child to be floating there.
When CLU's cycle is destroyed on the grid, the slow-mo of him flying into the air and regenerating his cycle was rather Matrix-like, and for a REAL tasetoof the Matrix in TL, Quorroa makes that jump across the retracted bridge to the portal. I watched Matrix the other day and this was an almost EXACT top-down-view copy of Trinity's cross-rooftop jumo when she first escapes from Agent Smith early in the movie.
As they say, once is a coincidence, twice is a happening, three times is a thing. Put those and maybe many others together and you've got what I think are a few homages to other great movies.

1) the resemblance of Flynn's *Safe House* on The Grid to the room at the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey was intentional. Joe Konsinski is a huge fan of Kubrick's work.
2) It was RINZLER that did an aerial flip and rezzed up a second light cycle. Not Clu. I've watched all three Matrix films over 18 times and there is *no* similar shot to that one in any of the Matrix films.
3) It was Clu's jump over the gap between the retracted bridge that resembled the scene were Trinity in The Matrix jumps from one rooftop to another. That was Joe's little homage to that shot; it's a great visual shot and I think was just a little nod to the Wachowski's.
"The film is about finding human connection in an increasingly digital world." - Joseph Kosinski

If anything, The Matrix has similarities to the original TRON...

I thought there was a subtle Wizard of Oz homage too with the 2D -> 3D switch. Pretty clever really. And it may be the first time that 3D got used in a way that was both creative and not gimmicky. It was subtle enough that most probably didn't notice aside from subconsciously, which provides a unique sensual difference between one world and another.

Kosinski said he was striving for a Wizard of Oz effect with the 3-D. That's partly or entirely why he didn't do a wormhole to the gridabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion
