What things did you notice about Legacy after or during the second viewing?

on Thursday, March, 17, 2011 8:31 PM
Plenty of us who have seen our favorite movies more than once notice something new about them with each watching, some touch the director threw in or action of the characters that we didn't catch the first time. I noticed many with Tron, but last time I caught it that when the camera cuts away from Sam's first appearance at the EOL club, the outside of the tower is shown from the top down. Then some lights go on, further illuminating the tower.

Meanwhile, CLU is in Bridge's safehouse and looks out the front "window" after trashing Flynn's dining room table, then says "Let's go!" or "Let's move!" with some urgency. Took me a while to figure out that he said that because the lights on the tower had been turned on.........as a signal that Sam was there! As soon as he looked out the window, CLU saw the lights now on and immediately left for club to confront or kill Sam.

I know this one is really going to just sound plain moronic, but Sam was forced to play the same two games upon his arrival that his dad was in Tron:disc wars and the light cycles, the latter of which he also gained his freedom from by escaping just like his dad!

He also says, like Dad, Come on, this is it. But he gets smashed down by Clu whereas Flynn broke out.

I noticed the tower stuff on second viewing. How did he know anyone was there, since he asks Castor, are Flynn and the boy gone? Now how did Castor know the guards were coming, unless he notified them and up to that point, he was all helpful to Sam, offering him a change of clothes and a forged disk. Easy for Castor to also let Clu know if his prey would be there.

I assumed that Zuse had a made a deal with Clu to double-cross Flynn for control of the city and that the tower being lit up as it was, was the signal for Clu.

I noticed that I liked the 2nd viewing better than the 1st. It went faster, I noticed more references to the first film, saw more subtleties in the story and visuals, and didn't hardly pay any attention to the CGI'd Flynn/Clu anymore. Specifically, I noticed (because a friend pointed it out) that Dillinger, Jr. doesn't clap his hands when everyone else at the table does. More number "3"s throughout. And I'm sure several other things I can't think of offhand.

I found more and more nuances, visuals and such pretty much each time I watched it. I liked it better the 3rd time than the 2nd. And then it kind've just became a near-plateaud (but not in a bad way) perpetual enjoyment of the film for the additional additional time I saw it I saw it 11 total times in the theater! Heh, I just didn't want to regret 'not' seeing it in the theater, so I went all OCD on it. I wish I had seen the original Tron more times in the theater when it came out, so this was my way to prevent from feeling the same way with T:L, in case T:L ever reaches the status with me that has. I still like the original quite a bit better, but a good amount of that love is probably due to my nostalgia glasses.

It's been a long while since my last viewing of T:L, so I'm ready for the Blu-Ray to come out! (LOL, I can't believe that 1 or 1.5 months constitutes a "long time." But hey, we're talking Tron here )

PS: I noticed Steven Lisberger behind Castor's bar in my 1st viewing. That was cool to see.

I saw Tron 8 times in the theatre. More once I bought the video. I've seen T:L 3 times in the theatre and more online. And yeah, multiple viewing do help. Don't know why but it did go by faster each time.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

The only part I struggle with is the dinner scene through solar sailer scene. There's a bit of a lull there for me. It's well done and I enjoy it... but it's just a bit slow. Lots of dialogue and exposition, and I'm not usually good with straight dialogue if there's not much going on visually. So, in seeing it 11 times, those are the main parts that drag on for me... and they did so pretty much from the 3rd viewing onward.

I may not be a total lost case, though. I loved Gattaca and that's a lot of dialogue. And AI and Vanilla Sky. But I think it's maybe because the story and visuals help to keep my interest in those more effectively.

With me, when I watch something repeatedly, first few times is for the obvious, visuals, story, etc....After that, I start to analyze the actors, how they play a scene, hidden meanings, and so on. So the supper scene for me, while slower, was still of interest.

One thing I always wonder is, why does Quorra laugh out loud so oddly?order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

On my 4th of my 8 viewings of the movie, I noticed that when Disc War's HUD loads up the sound effect from Discs of Tron can be heard, and when Light Cycle battle begins, the light cycle start up sound from Tron the arcade game can be heard.

During the fireworks scene, I notice the bursts resembled Bit's forms.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I love Quorra's laugh, along with the way she delivers lines and some of the faces she gives, especially at the dinner scene and when she asks about Jules Verne. It's part of her innocent, naive and outgoing charm and it is a nice juxtaposition with her innate intelligence and sophisticated abilities. I like it...

Well said, Traahn! My thoughts exactly!

I noticed on my second viewing that Kevin referred to Quorra as "Q" in the Safehouse scene, when he said, "There are no visitors, Q." I didn't pick that up the first time I saw it. I thought it was a nice subtle cue as to the closeness and familiarity of the friendship between Kevin and Quorra.

That made me think of John DeLancie on Star Trek and his Q character.

I am writing fanfic about the relationship between Flynn and Quorra, it inspired me so. Can you imagine living with one person so long, no others? Must have been special.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Cool IluthraDanar!

Thanks HooDooMan!

Regarding Q, that reminds me. It took me a few times to figure out why Quorra said on the Solar Sailer something like, "I guess you could say I'm a rescue..."

For the first few times I saw the film, I thought she was saying she was a "Rez-Q"... like a "Rezzed up Quorra." But it seemed like it came from left-field and I didn't understand why she was saying it. Then it dawned on me on about the 4th viewing of the film that Sam said at the dinner table that his dog was a "rescue"... so I completely missed that correlation the first few times.

I still sometimes wonder if the writers purposely did that. Like they used the word "Rescue" as a double-meaning rhyme with "Rez-Q" on purpose. It isn't that far-fetched for her to be labeled a "Rez-Q."

I'll say. How do you not want to kill somebody??? (Well, I guess it's a bit easier in the Grid when nobody leaves dirty socks lying around, you don't have to argue about who's scooping the cat's box or who's cleaning the kitchen/bathroom, etc.!)

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Chaos.... good news.

Everytime I watch it, even though it's not something new I pick up on, just the first major scene with Rinzler in the disc wars always makes me go "What a badass!!!!"where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Oh yeah, another thing I noted.....during the light cycle event, two of the good guys (Sam and the guy he met in the recognizer) join forces to sandwhich an enemy rider between their ever narrowing light walls. The same strategy was used to dispatch an enemy rider in Tron! Took me seven viewings before I spotted that. I wonder what else I've missed.

Also, one of the lighht cycles makes a VERY hard left when on one of the lower levels which rather closely mimics the 90 degree turns made by the bikes in Tron. No doubt this was intentional. where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online
