sorry if this stuffs been covered, but its my first post, and after seeing the movie several times, im a little confused about a few things.

Why is Flynns disc so important? Is it necessary to have Kevins disc to be able to go through the portal? because kevin didnt seem to mention that to sam at any point during their discussion. why did Clu need it so bad? i thought the portal was put so far away so programs couldnt escape.. this lead me to believe you didnt need flynns disc, until clue stole it to be able to get out... and kevin gave it to sam to escape...


also, rinzler. when quorra kicked him off the side of the ship before the light jet battle, his discs fell of the side. he didnt recover them the rest of the movie. is he gonna get them back? did this have a role in him rebooting back to Tron? did Tron even die? Man... thats a hell of a cliff hanger. Id like to see some of that dual disc tron action in tron 3

this movie is awesome but its definitely a mess at some points...

any thoughts?

Kevin Flynn's disc allowed programs to go through into the real world. My personal guess is that he included the ability after he discovered the ISO's. So he could gift them to the world, like he said during the dinner scene, probably even told Tron and Clu about it before Clu turned. Clu, having thousands of grid-years to think about it, figured out a way to not only go himself...but bring the whole marching band with him.

IIRC, Quorra kicked Rinzler and his discs over the side. However, you are right...he does not have them later. Who knows if/when he will get them back.

I personally think the shock of harming a Sam (a user) in the Arena, combined with seeing Kevin Flynn again, kicked him back to his real self.

He did not derezz, to me that suggests survival.

My understanding is that they had a script change during shooting, and had to adjust some things. I think the movie does fine for the most part whether or not that is true, and especially if it is true.

I am also hoping they make three. I hear that David Warner said he wants in, on his own website.
