Hi, new guy here... just wanted to share some new kicks I picked up. The Tron:Legacy Adidas Sneakers with "three dimensional, elastomeric, membranous, flexible electroluminescent lamps. Oryon Technologies has patented this brand new technology". (Not your typical EL tape I've seen people try to hack together in a shoe.)
There's three modes: On, Off, and Blinking. It comes with 2 adapters that charge up the rechargeable battery/ballasts that is pretty small and fits nicely in a pouch behind the tongue of the shoe (which is meant for the shoe laces). At least it's not bulky like most EL Tape ballasts/batteries.
I spoke with the rep at the Tron Pop-Up Shop in Culver City, CA . Seven were given to the main actors of the new Tron:Legacy movie, supposedly they will be wearing them at the LA Premiere this Saturday. (I doubt it though, I'm sure they'll wanna dress all fancy for the premiere, but you never know).

Not sure if they will be mass produced, but I'll keep you posted if I find out more. You can also try calling the Tron Pop Up shop in Culver City for more info. It is located in the Royal/T cafe.
There were rumors earlier in the year saying they will be out this December, but I haven't heard anything new...
Here's how to get a hold of the Tron shop:

I'm SO tempted to get one of those if I can afford them. I could use them for my fencing competitions just to distract the opponents >  . It would look good on my fencing jacket/knickers with blue streaks.

That's the thing, they are Not going to be mass produced, they were for promo purposes only. Much like nike does with some of their releases such as the jordan and/sb dunk releases (aka samples) Sorry to disappoint all. This was confirmed when i spoke to an Adidas rep a few months ago while at comic con. on the other, coming from someone whom supposedly bought these at the pop up shop recently, erm i don't know as I'm doubtful. I asked while there as well to confirm & was told the same thing though it may be possible that there were some since the new shipment did arrive recently so it's possible.

Not that this proves anything, but here are some pix with the shoes at my place...
Guess I must have just been at the right place and at the right time... Hope they do produce something like this in the future cuz I have some friends and co-workers that would love a pair.

The tron poster is really cool, very good quality, made of vinyl so will last and is good for indoor/outdoor use. Got it at ebay for $55 + $15 shipping.

Nice sneakers! The ones I picked up don't light up like yours but the artwork on the shoes is fantastic (Adidas Adicolor BL4 limited edition sneakers from 2006).

Oh, MAN. It's like a remaster of those blinky shoes that light up when you walk, only now we're all grown up and we STILL want some! (yes, of course I totally had a pair when I was younger)
