Eight years ago a show called Firefly aired and was quickly canceled due to inadequate ratings by Fox, but the fans wouldn't let it go and the Firefly universe lives on in a feature film, comic books and other creations.

20 years before that, TRON was released into the world and despite mediocre sales at the box office it lives on as well. Video games, comic books and toys kept us going for years but we are about to receive the prize that most of us dreamed of since we were children wishing we could play the games too. TRON legacy was made for 200 million dollars and will have to be a big hit if we are to see the final chapter of the film saga they are hoping for and I think we can take a page from the Firefly fans efforts to benefit our own.

We need to begin a guerrilla marketing campaign, little things on the net and in real life to keep the word getting out about how great this film will be.

I'd like to take ideas of things we can do and put them in motion. It doesn't have to be huge, but it's amazing how little things can keep the film in people's minds.

First up I think should be the votes websites are doing about favorite characters, hotties (their word, not mine) and films from ComicCon. Here is an example:

Getting the votes on Olivia Wilde will get her name, and that of TRON out there again.

Anyone else find a vote like this or have any ideas we can use to aid the marketing?
