At work some equipment was being tossed out to the recycling center and I snagged a neat item that caught my attention. Pure 80's tech here.
Tandy 102
Works fine. Even have the dust case to put it in. This is a neat early portable computer. Love the look of it and am very impressed with how slim and light it is for such a early machine. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue_bezel/ |

Nice find there here are the specs on that from old computers as well of what it could do with that. I think mainly it was meant as a word prcessor for that and nothing much else. I know I wanted one when they came out since I did a lot of writing back then. But take a look here Sketch of what if could do with what is available.

Ya know I am a total nerd when it comes to specs like this.

VROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!
To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I wasn't into Tandy computers much but I did have the TRS-180 Color Computer. The specs were really good for an 8-bit computer but I favored Commodore.
Texas Instruments had a computer similar to the Tandy 102 I think, but I'll have to look it up..

Thanks for the link Compucore.
Took it apart and cleaned it. Whole computer is just three chips. Keyboard, screen, and motherboard. Amazingly simple construction and design. It's on my bookshelf now, conversing with a Speak and Spell and some retro calculators.

Speak and Spell would be very angry that you misspelled 8008135 in the Mark VI.
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Took a glance at it. Nice computer.
Sinclair had some really slick designs, which still hold up well today.
Always love the ZX Spectrum styling.

Gah, crap. Will fix that. The Mark VI is a cumbersome detonator-looking beast of a calculator. Punched it in while it was upside down... go figure. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue_bezel/ |

I had one of those (perhaps not the same model number). It was a cartridge based system with a built in keyboard. It also had a thick anti-static pad made from some sort of fabric that you needed to set the system on. I only had it for a short while and picked it up at a yard-sell for about $5.00 sometime back in the mid-90's. |

Come to think of it, must have been it's predecessor.
