It's the same game from flynns arcade..
Too bad they didn't use those vector lines (like the movie), because it would look much better than textures. And I don't get the brick wall textures. It doesn't look like the movie at all, while it easilly could so a bit of a miss there. And in the SP from the movie, the recognizers are much lower, and the tank seems to move at a predetermined speed. And you'll also notice the walls are wider, the floor looks like a giant chocolate bar, and when you fire, the volleys don't rotate like they do in the movie. And plus, what's with the power-ups and ammo-refill stations?

Simply put, this Space Paranoids isn't the original Space Paranoids. It's an updated version released for our times. It isn't the 80's anymore. I don't see how you could play the game with a Yoke-controller as portrayed in the movie anyway. I'm glad it's updated for our times and coming out for online play. I wonder if it'll have multiplayer? Apparently Encom is using 3Dfx cards to develop the game. You'd think a big, multinational corporation could afford at least a few GeForce 1 cards.
I'm also assuming this will be playable on Heat.Net.

ANd to think I still have 2 PCI 3dfx accelerated cards still laying around over here. 12 megs per card. LOL.

I'm pretty sure this game will be playbable from within a browser, it's probably Java or Flash based.
