Hey SD1,

I think that Hollywood is trying to cash in on the whole 1980's revival phenomenon. Those of us (including me) that grew up in the 80's are now at the point where our demographic has kids that are around the same age that we were during the 80's when these movies and TV shows came out. And so, through the allure of "reliving our youth", Hollywood has, as Histrion so aptly put it, a built-in audience in the "80's"adults as well as their kids.

Now, the one movie that I would definitely be interested in seeing would be the sequel to "The Last Starfighter". I tried to do a quick Google search and the latest article I could find about it is dated February 2008 stating that it was about to get greenlighted and another article had a projected release date sometime in 2010. But I can't find any more updated info.

The reason I'm really interested in seeing a sequel to "The Last Starfighter" is that the articles seem to indicate that the sequel would follow a track very similar to the one that TRON: Legacy has taken in that the Starfighter sequel would involve the original director, writer and main character actor Lance Guest. Here's a link to one of the more informative articles I could find:

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Son-Of-The-Last-Starfighter-7974.html
Hopefully, it's being made and I can "relive my 80's youth", LOL!

As for most of the movies on your list, I think I'll just save my money for the next couple of TRON movies they're going to make after TRON: Legacy....

Not sure if this one was mentioned, but I just read about it online. Spyhunter, the movie.

Seriously, it was a great game and all from 1983 & I believe there was a sequel videogame, but seriously I think it's one movie I'd personally pass on. Now, if it was Ghosts N' Goblins that might be a different story.

The sad thing is that Hollywood doesn't seem to realize that most of us who did grow up on those 80's classics are very loyal to those films and do NOT want to see them bastardized with remakes. Sequel reboots ala Tron Legacy might be welcomed depending on who was making them and what the premise was. As long as there is a respect for the source and a desire to maintain continuity I think they would be welcomed. But these rehash cash ins have got to stop.

What possible incentive do the studios have to stop making them? People keep buying tickets to them, don't they?where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Yeah, how dare I expect any kind of quality or originality. Shame on me. Crack, bombs and Twilight books sell, too. Does that make them OK? No... no, it doesn't.

Is it okay to sell crack? No, of course not.

Is it okay to sell bombs? That's a complicated issue.

Is it okay to make and sell lame books and movies? Sure it is. One man's trash is another man's treasure. In the world of films, there's room for all kinds, and no matter what you or I (or Roger Ebert) might think of Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo, if it makes enough money, there will be a European Gigolo film.

Don't assign too much moral weight to artistic merit. De gustibus non est disputandum.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

One movie I would like to see re-made is Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Not sure about The Black Hole remake.

If I recall correctly, the Black Hole remake is being directed by Kosinski. Can't end up being absolutely terrible.

Ok, so what are all of your thoughts. Are Hollywood movie studios running out of ideas, or are the studio CEO's and COO only green lighting this garbage to make money off of people thinking they are all easily amused sheep?

WTF is going on with the companies behind these film s getting approved for going into production?

I also read that Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is remaking YET another 80's CLASSIC: Poltergeist. I don't know about this one. IMHO, you can't have Poltergeist without Jerry Goldsmith's theme song and the little short lady Zelda Rubinstein. . as well as Spielberg and Tobe Hooper being involved and the character of Carol-Anne and the famous house in the first film. . . .I may have to pass on this. I saw Bay's remake of "Amityville Horror: Opening montage: cool; rest of film: SUCKED!!!!!. I saw his remake of "Friday the 13th: WTF??????" Bay can do action, but he needs to leave horror alone - and I doubt I'm going to see TF3, UNLESS:
A)Skids and Mudflap AREN'T IN IT;
B)There's no stupid comedy, stupid stereotypes and stupid, rampant, innuendos;
C)Some of the designs look better. Yes, Prime's design is cool, I grew to accept Bumblebee as a 2010 Camaro (ever seen one of those up-close? They are purty!!!!), and some of the other designs, but I HATE Starscream's design, and seems like whoever designed the Decepticons (and some of the Autobots) was od'ing on something. . .

Why is there a lack in original movies these days? They all have to be based on something or rebooted or in relation of. Other than superhero movies, all I really want to see this year is TRON.

There are almost 100,000 sci-fi concepts that I can come up with that no one else has done that I think could work really well..... but like Lucas recently said that there isn't much money to be made these days in movies but TV seems to pay out so much better... Which is fine with me, but at least with movies you have a much larger variety..

Ok.. I'm gonna stop ranting... lol

Red Dawn has been shelved indefinitely and they won't say how much filming was completed.

MGM is in such a dire financial situation that the new James Bond movie has been cancelled until the studio gets sold or is infused with investor cash.

This is an indication of how bad the economy is getting. Say goodbye to the big budget films after this christmas.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill
