I'm such a dork...the TRON party is today FRIDAY!
A great guy named Stephen Starkweather is putting on a Tron party this Friday. I'm pretty sure I'm going to try and attend.
Hopefully someone will do some video recording. Should be fun. I'm sure there's be TRON parties in the past. Just thought I'd mention it for people in the area.
Hey Tron-party people !!!
We've had to change the venue for the Tron Party because the Oakland Fire Dept caught wind of the event happening at Lobot and threatened to shutter the place if we had the party there.
But have no fear, we've got a new space nearby to host the party and there are some added bonuses too!
The new location is:
INKWELL
1145 65TH ST. (between San Pablo & Hollis)
OAKLAND, CA
Inkwell Studio was nice enough to accomodate us at the last minute and their 150 capacity space is gonna be awesome for the Tron Party. Inkwell will have a few tattoo artists on hand in their studios during the event if anyone wants to get some ink done during the party and they will have some of that special UV-tattoo ink in case anyone wants to get some secret glowing tattoos done under blacklight 
Don't forget your costumes !!! We're giving away a few special prizes to the best dressed Tron partygoers.

For those of you that have been to one of my previous 3 Tron parties, you are likely well aware of the amount of preparation and decoration that goes into these awesome events. The past 3 Tron parties have been held at my house in Berkeley and I have the great opportunity to take this party to the next level at a bigger space. This year it’s gonna be BIG and I’m going to NEED all the HELP I can get to pull it off. If you are interested in helping us, here are the following ways you can assist:
1) INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY AND ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO REALLY LIKES TRON. You can do this through the Facebook event invite (above) and feel free to tell your friends to invite anybody they know as well.
2) START ON YOUR COSTUME For info on costume ideas and the Tron Party, please see http://www.stevedood.com/tron.htm
3) WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH DECORATIONS & BUILDING THE SCULPTURES All materials and tools will be provided. We will be meeting at Lobot on Sunday 2/21/10 to construct the huge recognizer & tank. We will also need help on Friday 2/26/10 at Inkwell to hang the grid & lighting. Additional help will be needed afterwards to help clean up as well.
Also note that this will be THE LAST TRON PARTY EVER !!! I have made this careful decision because I believe this will be the BEST TRON PARTY EVER and impossible to improve upon. Also the new movie TRON LEGACY will be released in December 2010 and as such, I think this will be an appropriate send off.

Thought I'd just give you an update. The party is today (Friday) in the Bay Area and this was the latest update. I'm seriously considering going, but am battling a cold. Ugh, still worth getting more sick to take pics/check it out.
Subject: Tron Party TONIGHT!
Hey friends,
I've been hard at work prepping everything for the Tron Party and the place is looking sweet! We've got a massive blacklight system, a 3D grid, Recognizer, Tank, Light Cycle, sculptures, decorations, lighting, multiple video projections, and high def sound system.
We've also got the folks over at Cool Neon providing some super amazing lasers, light sculptures, and a prize package for the costume contest. Cool Neon is a great local business that sells EL (electroluminescent) Wire and other fantastic things. I am quite confident this is gonna be the party tonight and the music is gonna be amazing!
Hope you can make it…not only will this be my last Tron Party ever but the BEST Tron Party ever !!!
