Activision completely butchered the PC version.

No dedicated servers - All servers will be owned by Infinity Ward meaning that if their servers are down you can't do multiplayer. LAN support is unconfirmed.

Map Packs will cost extra instead of being bundled with updates.

Will cost $60 for no justifiable reason other than "rawr im kotick an i leikz moneyz nomnomnomnom"

Good thing: They're using Valve Anti-Cheat now instead of Punkbuster. Now you can actually play online multiplayer (or what's going to be left of it).

I'm not even interested in Modern Warfare . . . but once they start pulling this crap with a "big" title like that and get away with it, it sets a precedent that everyone else will follow. (Except Valve, I guess.) The day I'm locked into paying for every little bit of crap they release, constant online monitoring and control measures, and no possibility of creating maps or mods, is the day I stop playing games. Screw it.

I agree. There's really no reason for them to take away features and raise the price. Sure, they'll release some BS statement saying something like "This is a big title, it should cost more", because that's what they did with all versions of the game in Europe. Modern Warfare 2 will cost the equivalent of $84.77 in Europe, and Activision's only reason is that it's a big name title.

Activision also says that DJ Hero's bundle pack should cost $120 for the sole reason that it has a lot of content. So I got it (and felt terrible considering I was technically supporting Kotick's "LOLWUTISMODCOMMUNITY" plan), and I've gotta say that the single player campaign is absolutely freaking epic.

Also, Special Ops is a lot of fun. I played the AC130 mission (where one player is in the AC130 and the other is on the ground) cooperatively with someone in Greece with little noticeable lag. That particular mission was based off part of "Hunted" from CoD4. Very cool.

Is it worth $60? Hard to say. The Special Ops mode gives literally tons of replay value, CoD4's secret intel laptops are back, but there's more than twice as many now scattered throughout the campaign. And multiplayer has been expanded with tons of features that makes it way more fun, despite the lack of dedicated servers.

Yeah, matchmaking sucks. I was ranked level 3 and got paired up with level 40's-70's in an 8 player free for all. The claims about a "9 player maximum" are false. Most game modes support up to 12 players. Matchmaking does make finding a game easier, but it still isn't as good as dedi's.

One particular joke I liked: You're in this building downloading files from a computer. The download module's bandwith speed is jumping all over the place, though. So when you're holding off Russians while defending this thing, up in the corner of the screen, the time remaining jumps around between 2 minutes and 4 hours. I lol'd.

If anyone wants to know spoilers, I'll gladly spill the beans in a spoilerbox.

For those who are wondering, the music files are located in "Steam/steamapps/common/modern warfare 2/main" in .iwd files 16-20. .iwd format files can be opened with an adaptive file archive opening program such as WinRAR or IZArc. Most of the files are in .mp3 format (except for one, which is in .wav), and can be safely extracted for your listening pleasure.

And I just found out that the composer of this game's soundtrack also did the music The Lion King. The movie AND game, lol.
