They've got to at least have him as a passerby or nearby computer programmer, where only a fan would recognize him.

Ill second that. Having him in the digital world in something resembling his  suit would only be insulting.
But as a passerby or a pc repairsman would fit him very well.

No one is really saying he should be fighting the MCP side by side with tron. A cameo is only a cameo. Something that only lasts from a few seconds to a minute or two.

I concur. Where have I been? Jay Maynard is a member of this forum, folks. That's not exactly how to win friends and influence people.
To chime in my own $0.02, if I saw Jay's face in the movie as a cameo, I think it would be a wonderful gesture from Disney toward the fan base. Jay, in my opinion, has done a lot of work to promote Tron.

True. Not the forum it was some years ago. Jay is cool in my book. Tights with lights. A warrior with guts. heh.. I think he should get a cameo too, that would be awesome! Only he has to play one of the MCP's guys hahaa! I think I'd need to bring a bladder bag to the theatre.

Here's my 2 pennies: Jay has done a TON of promoting for the TRON franchise: from going on Jimmy Kimmel to the different events he does, wearing a TRON outfit. In my estimation, it is only right that Jay be in the movie, maybe as an extra in the real world segment. If he's in the virtual world segment, he'd have to remove his glasses, as I don't recall any of the programs wearing glasses, and I'd say he would be on the side of the blue programs.

I agree that he deserves a cameo in TR2N. He surely made a contribution to the TRON-franchise. I think there are a lot of people who are now crazy about TRON because of him.
