Glancing around my room, after reading this collector's forum, I found myself thinking about the TRON 2.0... what an awesome collection. Only four figures.. Thorne, Mercury, IC Regular, and Jet Bradley. Brings to mind my favorite part of TRON 2.0 where Jet teams up with the IC Regulars to take on Thorne's stronghold in the corrupted parts of the system.
The Reboot action figures are probably next in design and skill. Really detailed. I have all the Season 1 figures, and one of Bob from like Season 3 I believe. Good stuff. I also have the little rubber figure line of Reboot. That is the only Phong character I have.
The TRON action figures for 1981 were not bad.... again four characters like TRON 2.0, having Tron, Flynn, Sark, and a Warrior. Does anyone else also wish that for the 20th anniversary edition they could have added a Clu, Yori, Ram, and Dumont action figures? Add another four since TRON action figures seem to be released in fours.
And then we have Mattel's "Computer Warrior" line. Anyone remember that? I barely do [Suddenly gets the brainstorm to search Youtube for this...] It has sequences that look like it was done on a Amiga, that was interesting. Basically virus's and virus hunters that start their fight in the computer world and wind up the real world. Kinda TRON meets Transformers.
I have four of the riders, and I think somewhere the book and the alarm clock. An interesting story for that retro-TRON-marketting approach. And I think the computer in the cartoon was pattern after an Amiga 3000.
Kinda wish there was an Automan figure line.
So what computer related action figures do you know out there?
