I heard about it at E3, looked kinda interesting. Really liked the futuristic feel they chose, very industrial Blade Runner-esque, imo.

Kotaku said that and Mirror's Edge were gonna be the two great rental titles this year, though. Would you agree?on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

Dead space is like the movie THE THING and EVENT HORIZON mixed togetther!! Yeah looks real good, im saving that for a christmas game..

Mirrors edge is going to be awsome as well... It will be cool to play a FPS that dosent have a GUN as a main weapon. Its more of a run along the rooftop and get to the finish line kinda game, with enimies tring to stop you.. Also it kinda looks like it has a DRAGONS LAIR play to it. By that i mean there are RED flashes that let you know which way to go.. Know what i mean?

Anyways the game thats going to be the BEST game is F.E.A.R.2 PROJECT ORIGIN. Comes out 2/10/09...

The reason I think Kotaku said Mirror's Edge and Dead Space would be good renters is because I think they were hinting that they don't really have good replay value.

Kinda sad for me, because the only system I'll be able to play Mirror's Edge on is PC, which you can't rent games for due to copyright issues, anti-piracy prevention, etc.

Btw, someone tried to make the E3 Mirror's Edge demo level in Portal, check it out:

So, basically, typing DISC in parenthesis gives you

Or, typing X D without the space gives you .

I'm interesed in Dead Space, but I'm waiting to see how the PC version turned out.

I'm not exactly fond of EA, so I could very easily skip this title: based on their policy with DRM and how they handle PC ports.

And, no, I wouldn't then pick it up on a console.

Meanwhile, I've pre-ordered Far Cry 2 for PC. I wouldn't have pre-ordered it, if it weren't for the fact that you're supposed to get bonus missions if you do. I hate pre-ordering as a rule, but they've managed to con me into it.

Not bad so far, I'm digging it!

Here I am not very far into the game:

The over-the-shoulder camera isn't bad once you get used to it - hey it enabled me to get this boss self-portrait - and the controls are good.

Also, the game runs perfectly on medium settings on my PC - my PC wasn't top-notch for very long - at 1920x1200. So a newer, more powerful PC shouldn't have any problems.

I'm definitely interested in it for the PS3 and it's on the "list". It's gotten very good reviews from several web sites.

I picked up Fallout 3, though, yesterday and I have a feeling that's going to keep me busy for a month or two. I was disappointed that they released F3 in 720p. Oblivion on the PS3 was in 720p and I think suffered graphics-wise because of it. I don't know why, after all this time that the PS3 has been out, that they couldn't have released the game with a better resolution. Gameplay is great though. I guess if I am really into graphics I better defect to the PC and build a monster system. I figured the PS3 would be a good surrogate for that.

Not sure what resolution Dead Space is in for PS3. Anyone know?

720p native (true resolution), upscaled by the PS3's RSX chip to 1080p if you want it. Same as the majority of other PS3 titles.

I have the PC version now, but hardly had any time to play it. It looks fantastic at 1680x1050 for me, with everything cranked up full. Runs great too. At least EA did a good job of optimizing it on the PC. And I don't even have the most super-powerful system by today's standards. (Athlon X2 6400+, Radeon 3870, 2GB)

But the controls: what the hell? A lot of people complained about the mouse, but I find it to be just fine. The keyboard controls, on other other hand . . . they hard-mapped some of the keys so you can't change them to whatever you prefer. What an idiotic decision. Being able to customize the keyboard controls has been a staple of PC gaming since, well, forever. This needs to be patched, pronto.

Mutoidman, if you haven't done so, turn off the VSync in the game and use the VSync setting in your video card control panel instead. The VSync control in the game is broken. If you turn it off, you'll notice that the game will run a lot faster and smoother. You might be able to crank it up from medium to high, as a result.

Hey thanks for the tip regarding VSync; I'll be sure to give it shot tonight!

It is unbelievable that you can't remap the keys. However, it hasn't bothered me because I use an Ergodex DX1 to play games. Look it up, you might just want one.

TronFAQ, I tried your suggestion, jacked up the display settings to the max, and it seemed to work; however I encountered a weird error telling me that I ran of video memory.

I've got two 256MB BFG 7800 GTX OCs; I guess 256MB isn't quite enough for the top detail settings! Maybe it's time I bite the bullet and upgrade my graphics cards.

Just thought I'd add a link here relevant to the discussion.. There's a gamer's version of this device as well for PS3. If you don't have the latest HD veiwscreen, or whatnot, HDFury will deliver. http://www.hdfury.com/(it also stips HDCP)

Which is odd, considering that the minimum video card memory requirement is 256MB. Which you've got covered.

I'd say it's pretty likely that Dead Space doesn't like SLI setups, which is apparently what you have. Either that, or nVidia needs to do some work on their drivers to get Dead Space working properly.
