Hey guys, lately I've been in a creative mood, and decided to start up a Tron fanfic with my own original characters. Here's a backstory and a profile sketch of Rayna, one of my characters!!
Name: Rayna
Age: 20(approximate in user years)
Type: Program; her user's name is Jessica
Height: Unknown form of measurement in the digital world, but Jessica's height is 5'8".
Circuitry Color: Blue
Jessica's Background info:
Rayna is a program written by Jessica Eastman, a freelance programmer and employee at Flynn's arcade. Jessica is a somewhat typical girl living in the 80's. She loves listening and dancing to the hottest pop music of the time, and has an obsession with clothes and fashion. However, she is very gifted in computers and math, and is actively pursuing a technology-based career. During the day, Jessica is busy taking classes at the nearby University. At night, she works at Flynn's arcade. Its the perfect job for her, since she's a total videogame addict (although at first glance, you'd never know it! ). Although Flynn is the resident videogame king, Jessica has been known to give him a run for his money whenever they play 2 player games. When she's not working, you can expect her to be at the local clubs, dressed up in her hottest clothes, dancing her heart out!
She started writing her program, nicknamed Rayna, back before she entered college. She thought it would be a challenge (and a good resume builder) to create a database program, which she used to catalog her music collection. Although later on, she kinda became sidetracked, and started to add little hidden mini-games within her program just for fun. Flynn helped her with development and testing by allowing her to run the program on the Encom servers, back when he was still employed under Ed Dillenger. After Flynn was terminated from the company, he continued to peek and hack into the Encom servers. While Flynn's primary concern was on his searching program, Clu, he continued to help Jessica out by allowing illegal access to the servers.
Rayna's Background Info:
Rayna enjoyed life in the servers. She felt like she had the resources to learn new techniques and methods to better serve her user. All seemed normal until the MCP began to take control of the system. Freedoms were lost. Things didn't seem so cheerful anymore. She maintained a close friendship with Clu, who kept her informed about the overtaken system. All of the fun and recreation centers in the system shut down, one by one. Clu was nowhere to be heard from. Rayna started getting very worried, and soon enough, she could not take it anymore.. she teamed up with some of her friends, and started an underground party sector.
Although it wasn't much, it was a place for the remaining free programs to have an outlet from their world, to express themselves and be with friends. Sark and the MCP eventually found out about the hidden club and, almost instantly, guard programs rushed and took control of the area. All of the programs inside were captured, and were planning to be sent to fight for their lives in the gamegrid. Rayna tried to escape the takeover, but was cornered by guards. Rayna was up against the wall, and with nowhere to go. Sark and his guards continued to approach towards her. He was about to take his disc and de-rezz her, but the MCP's voice reverberated through his mind. "Take her to the gamegrid", the voice said. Sark grabbed Rayna's arm tightly and began to forcefully take her outside.
"You think you can control things in this system?? Let's see you dance your away out of the games.", Sark commented, with an angry tone. Unluckily for him, he did not know that the end of days for the MCP was fast approaching.
Rayna had been transported to the grid, where she recieved basic game training, and was held in a prison cell like the other believing programs. The next microcycle, she had been scheduled to play in a game of deadly discs, but something happened. Chaos was rampant in the holding cells. The guard programs quickly left their posts. The invisible walls of the rooms suddenly disintegrated. The deadly games came to end. The system was freed thanks to Tron, Flynn, and Yori.
After the system was re-built and relinquished to the users, Rayna was able to return to her cataloging routines. She still competed in games, although now, these games were now positive and fun forms of competition, not the brutal, deadly spectacles that Sark and the MCP loved. Of course, with a free system, programs had the opportunity to be themselves again. So when Rayna's not in the games or cataloging, she's having a good time out on the digital dancefloors.
Appearance:
Jessica's build is somewhat athletic. As far as weight appearance, she's a little bit on the full-figured side, but she's still very fit.... Rayna's bodily appearance is exactly like that of her user's.
Face & Head-
Rayna has a bright, attractive smile and accented cheeks (she has dimples when she smiles, too! ). She appears to wear makeup and abundant eyeshadow, but since programs have monochrome faces in appearance, they only show up as darker shades of grey. She wears a small but noticeable amount of glitter on her cheeks that glow a whitish-blue.
When Rayna is competing in the games, she wears the typical warrior helmet like all the other blue programs. The helmet circuitry is basically the exact same style as well.
When she's not on the gamegrid, she has short to medium length hair. She wears it freely, but most of it is done up in a side pony tail. She also wears a sorta helmet/hairband thing that keeps everything in place. Like the color of things in the digital world, her hair is mostly grey shades, but it does contain highlights of bright, glowing blue. The elastic band that she uses for her ponytail is adorned with circuity patterns. She also wears large hoop earrings that look like a series of circles (like identity disks!)
Body-
With the exception of the typical shoulderpads and arm gauntlets worn by programs in the gamegrid, Rayna doesn't really wear armor. Because of Jessica's influence on Rayna, she has an interesting take on the tunics worn by new video warriors. Her tunic cloth takes the form of an 80's style off-the-shoulder t-shirt top, which goes down to the top of her stomach, right above her circuit-covered belt. The only circuitry lines on the shirt are near the top front: There are a number of seemingly random circuitry lines surrounding a central pattern (which looks like a combination of a heart outline and a power-on symbol).
Underneath the shirt and belt, she has another, lighter-shade tunic cloth that resembles a high cut dance/workout leotard. On the front, right below her belt, she has a small user symbol on it (sorta like Sark's 'V' on his suit, except smaller).
She has little circuitry on her legs, and she wears legwarmers and boots similar to Yori's outfit.
Personality:
Rayna is very cheerful, and loves to talk a LOT. She tends to have a flirty personality (which always works to her advantage going against male opponents in the games, haha). When she's busy with cataloging, she talks and describes things as if she were a mathematics genius. Otherwise, on the gamegrid, she occasionally slips into a tiny bit of valley girl talk. :P
Love life and relationships-
She thinks drama is somewhat entertaining, but she never wants to be a part of it. She rarely gets jealous of others, and always put other's feelings above her own.
Whenever she's single, she's ready to mingle! Rayna is definately not promiscuous, but within a relationship, she can be shamelessly frisky towards her boyfriend. And when it comes to dating, Rayna is definately a romantic! Her perfect date would include lots of dancing, followed by a romantic retreat to a place with beautiful views, like the simulation sea and the energy caverns, and finally, returning to her living quarters for lots and lots of hot, steamy "power sharing".
Beliefs-
Rayna has a very strong belief in the users. Her connection with Jessica is different than most programs. Often, they would think of their users as grand masters and the highest authority to answer to, but Rayna's belief is different. She considers Jessica more of a mentor and a best-friend, someone whom she can recieve advice and share anything to.

That's an awesome story! I like how you also drew drawings, and how you made Rayna wear not the regular program outfit! |
