First you need to use this: PBsetup
add the games that run punkbuster, this eliminates you needing to search online for updates.

The network problem is probably your connection to the server. some servers never give you trouble. keep those in your favorites.

I remember having similar issues with BF2142, I couldn't get the email address connected with my bf2 account.. fyi. but that's probably not your problem.
