Heyas.
I'm going to introduce something new. I'm going to download a DS demo from my Nintendo Wii, and review it as I play it! Genius!
I have a double feature for you all now! First up:
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
---------
Okay, downloading it now. Got a nice skull 'n crossbones dude from the ride. Sweet. I never saw any of these movies, btw.
Oooooh! One of the nicer demos! This one actually tells you all of the controls before you start. That's nice, but there's quite a few to remember here...
Okay, first off, this music is already on my nerves. Ouch. Also the jump button is in a rather awkward position, so it's a tad bit uncomfortable. The music track also seems to be really short. And it LOOPS. Oh God, no...
Wow, it's not a 2.5-D side scroller like I thought. It's pretty linear (left to right), but you can also move forwards and backwards. Animation is also pretty good, but combat could use a bit of work. Oh boy! Seems like I have a poisoned dagger! Is it really more affective than my sword, though?
Special weapons consume "Savvy". I'm sure pirates said savvy in the 18th century... hehe.
Okay, I'm stuck at a wall and the game isn't helping me at all, hang on.... Oooooooooohhhhhhhhh, there's the grapple item. It was in a pretty hard to see spot. Maybe it's this annoying music...
Hey, this dude's pretty athletic. He just used a piece of bamboo to pole vault across a gap.
Yay! I got an apple from some dude I killed! That's gotta be a crucial item!
Wow, the AI's being really stupid now. I just walked past an enemy and he didn't notice me till, like 10 seconds after I passed him. WTF?
Okaaayy, apparently flash bombs are savvy and your dude can't swim, yet he can pole vault, grapple, and jump really high...
Okay, so British dudes were swinging hammers at me, then I found some spikey fuzz ball and the demo ended. WTF?
I also found it hard to see where grapple posts were at times, so that could stump people..
---------
High School Musical: Makin' the Cut
Okay, I'm really bored, so here goes:
Alright, demo's ready, let's give it a DL.
WTF?!? There's an inversed communist star for the game's icon! And all games I've played that have commies are awesome! Lets-a go!
Looks like crap already.
WOOOAH! CREEPY CHICK WITH HUGE EARRINGS! SHIELD YOUR EYES! Let's see... I have to audition for the musical. Simple enough...
Okay, it's an Elite Beat Agents rip off.
Oh, and it seems like to succesfully try out for the dance, I also have to play basketball. WTF?
Wow, the music and notes are barely syncronized, and the song itself is just pure, unadultrated CRAP! Oh, and on the top screen, there's a chick singin' into a mic in the lunchroom or something...
Okay, a disko ball popped out of nowhere in the lunchroom. WTFOMGBBQ?
Well, demo's over. Funny how they say it's based on the original movie with an all new story. OXYMORON!
