(The search button does not work, and i don't want to trek around the digital world of the forums, so if somebody already posted about this, I'm sorry)
In this video of the original trailer for the TRON film, you can see some parts that were never in the ffilm, for example, At 01:44 of the video, when you see his face in the light cycle window, his color scheme is red with yellow circuits!
This is what wikipedia said about a different color scheme
"The original script called for "good" programs to be colored yellow and "evil" programs (those loyal to Sark and the MCP) to be colored blue. Partway into production, this coloring scheme was changed to blue for good and red for evil".
Second find in the light cycles scene, When the "Evil" program crashes into the wall, the wall rips open differently.
And for the third find in the light cycles scene, some parts of it has camera angles that different to the final. for example, when you see the side of the cycle, you actually see more of the back unlike in the final film you just see the wheel and a bit of the front.

Some of the points you outlined in your post have been discussed here before. It's a bummer the search function is still infested with grid bugs  but hopefully that will be functional again sometime.
Don't worry that some of these points have been brought up before. They're fun to talk about and I don't believe they've been spoken about recently.
The part where the MCP says "Welcome" I originally saw during the TV special "Computers Are People Too" back in 1981. I don't recall ever seeing it in a trailer for the film. I only ever saw the TV trailer in 1982, which I wasn't a fan of at the time. I didn't think it did the film justice and didn't show enough of the "cool stuff" inside the computer.   That's how I used to think of it - they didn't show enough of the cool stuff.
The color scheme was indeed changed at one point. I think Wikipedia might have it a little wrong through. I believe the good programs were to be yellow where the "bad guy" programs were to be green, not blue. In the final film, the original green tank programs remained green and CLU remained yellow as initially done in postproduction before the change. I think this was due to time and budget constraints. Several shots were completed with the original color scheme before the decision was made to change the colors.

Can't believe no one noticed this, but the MCP is rainbow colored, the same pattern that was used in the tunnel that the Solar Sailer went through before TRON and the gang reached the MCP.
Also, I do not currently have the image with me (away from home) but I've seen a Thailand  pre-production movie poster for TRON. TRON was yellow, The MCP was rainbow colored, and Yori didn't wear a circuitry uniform. Instead, she had blonde hair and a toga-like garment. Also, in the trailer for TRON, the green tank commander's voice was different... I think the original thought was to use the MCP-effect on all "bad" Programs.
Oh, and Todd, they didn't mess up. Clu was an Indepenent Porgram and the Tank Commander was the sun of... an Independent Program and a Program that fights for the Users of course!

The dress you described for Yori sounds rather similar to the one in the deleted love scene.
