I just got back from the movie theater. I saw this awesome movie called "Be Kind, Rewind". I already knew it had to be good because, well, it has Jack Black in it, so yeah.

*************(POSSIBLE) SPOILER ALERT**************

So Jack Black plays this loony character who lives near a power plant, which he thinks the government is using to control everyone's brains (and to give him bad headaches). So one night, he tries to sabotage the power plant but ends up getting magnetized. The next day he goes to his friend's videotape rental store and touches every singe VHS tape in there, thus rendering them useless. So he and his friend have to try and recreate all of the movies on their own. Some of the movies they do are Robocop, Rush Hour 2, and Ghostbusters.

It truly is a hilarious movie, and I don't think it was advertised too much. What do you all think of it?

I know I'm a spoilsport but:

Couldn't they just have rented okay versions of the destroyed tapes from elsewhere and fix it?

Because that's what's gotten me so puzzled. It's an obvious solution.

Then again, I suppose the funny part is in seeing how they completely miss the obvious solution.

That does make sense, but ...

They could still go to the libraries for this. ^^;

I'm speaking from a personal experience as we have tons and tons of tapes in our collection (but we only let people check out tapes four at a time. Can't get more till those four are returned!)
