A Californian/Chinese joint venture calling itself "Detroit Electric" is, quite frankly, an affront to God and man.

Doesn't hold much of a charge with me either, pun intended. They are after the customer loyalty through the name, simple as that. Makes me feel like they are desperate for recognition.

Think this will really make the electric car market expand in America? That's an awfuly big feat to pull off.

I highly doubt it. I think that the GM E-Flex platform, as seen initially in the Chevy Volt, is what will do the trick.

The only possible problems are that 1. the Chinese unscrupulously do their best to steal just about everything anybody else develops and proudly make it on the cheap and 2. China has most of the world's lithium, which is kind of necessary if you want to make lithium-based batteries of any sort.

We'll just have to hope that GM, a truely Detroit-based company which is most definitely on the rise back to greatness, I might add, can pull it off in time to be recognized as the leader in practical electric and hybrid vehicles. GM has already leapfrogged Toyota's limited-practicality single-mode hybrids by applying their tried and true two-mode hybrid technology to full-sized SUVs and pickup trucks, and that tech is due to filter down to the mid-sized crossovers and even their cars in short order. GM's hybrid tech is so good that MB and BMW have bought into the tech and will be applying it to their products.

And the Volt is due out in 2010. That's going to be just awesome, and the E-Flex tech is also planned for use in many models across GM's brands.

Go GM!!!where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online
