Not sure if this was posted before, but Tron is going to be playing at the Cinerama in Seattle in Feb/Mar 2008. (Paul Allen dumped a bunch of money into this theater to renovate it a while back.) http://www.cinerama.com/special_events.asp

The Cinerama
70MM FILM SERIES
Screening now through March, 2008, you'll have the opportunity to view six classic films there, shown in super crisp 70MM. Shot on film twice the size of a typical 35MM motion picture, these super high-resolution films are known for their amazing clarity and detail on the big screen.
There were a limited number of these high-resolution films made, and Cinerama is one of only a few theaters able to screen them. |
I saw 'Blade Runner: The Final Cut' there last night and it was awesome. Great theater. I had never seen Blade Runner before; not sure how that is possible?
Oh, cool... I see Ghostbusters is playing there next month.

You bet, I bet it'll be worth it! Tron doesn't play on the big screen very often, unless you go to California :P It played in Portland a couple years ago, at a small artsy theater there. It was great. The Cinerama is a larger-scale screen/theater, though, and that's pretty special, imo. I'm not aware of a viewing this large happening in the Seattle area for the ~10 years I've been really paying attention to Tron news.

I saw it today. Aside from a some technical difficulties during the first couple minutes, it was great. The film was in excellent condition, and it was really cool to see it with such clarity.

I agree. The first annoyance was that they started the movie before they turned all the lights down in the theater. Not cool! I love the intro to Tron and I demand that the screen not be washed out in bright spotlights on the movie screen. HELLO!?! And they couldn't get the main audio to work (were hearing surround sound only), so all this effectively ruined the intro for me and everyone.
We missed the first 5-10 minutes, in general, because of the sound issues. They would start and stop the film for a couple minutes here and there. After they finally got it working, they couldn't rewind the film -- or so they said -- so we really did miss the first 10 minutes. (Seriously, film can't be rewound?, not even manually??) Anyways, the movie didn't really start for us until the Clu scene where he's trying to "merge with this memory, Bit."
Aside from that, it was a great experience. I guess I need surround sound in my home because I was hearing sounds in the theater that I had never heard before! For instance, when they're in the prison cells, I could quite clearly hear lightcycles and explosions, etc., going on in the background. There were a few other times in the movie where I was thinking to myself that I had never heard those sounds before.
Oh, another *slight* annoyance was the brightness and/or contrast was set to a little too dark through the entire film. It was somewhat hard to see their faces in some scenes. They could've increased the brightness just a little to make the circuit patterns 'pop' on the costumes just a little more and so we could more clearly see the scenes. Just a minor nitpick.
All in all, though, it was awesome.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

They were being stupid at the AMC theater while we were watching King of Kong and stopping and starting it tons of times, like what happened at Seattle. Anyone know what could cause it?
