As you can no doubt tell I'm new here. Why Tron? Why not, say, Gears of War, or Halo 2/3/whatever? hell, why not bioshock? That one's a good game from everything my friends have reported on.
I'm not about to dismiss Tron, it brings to mind wonderful memories ofa movie I'd fallen in love with when I was little(I even have the tron maps and skins for tribes 2(pity they never made recognizer fliers and whatever the ground tanks were called...or light cycles).
So why? Long and short, my computer can't handle next gen. It can barely handle this as it sits. Well...CPU and GPU are well above minimums...but eh, its a seven eyar old box thats been faithful to me. I'm not about to toss him aside.

384mb ram
128mb Video Ram(radeon 9250 pci. no i do not have an agp slot)
Old, but upgraded throughout his years of service.

Hi Jeric, and welcome to Tron-Sector. 
I'm don't quite understand what it is you're trying to say, though? Are you saying "Why do I want to play Tron, well it's because my system can't handle next gen games"? Or are you asking if your system can handle Tron 2.0?
Either way, Tron 2.0 is sadly an overlooked gem of a game. It's really, really good and best played on the PC. The Xbox version was something of a letdown to me. And your system should be able to handle the game.

Guess next step, after getting lazaras out of the crate he's been living in for the past couple of months, is to grab the demo and see how well it runs.

Well, as I've read the demo is a poor substitute for trying the actual game I've decided to track down a copy and the nocd crack. Both are now in my possesion and I awate being able to unpack Lazaras. Someof these fan made maps look great, hell, the entire style of Tron looks great...just that some look better than others.
Can't wait to give this a go. Anything known on if there's a community based server solution, or am I too late for an online experiance?

I know this might be OT, but since we are talking pc hardware (or atleast a little bit)
just tried to play tron now and it seems it dislikes SLI systems.
easy enough work around was to turn off the SLI link, but its still a little snotty over my gfx card.
(being a dualcore 7950 gx2) (and 2 of thoes cards)
anyways, games working quite ok now after slowing the frame rate down (silly enough i just maxed out every bit of graphic detail o could)
so all peachy 
so if you do upgrade, keep an eye out for SLI rigs. (or the ATi equivelant Crossfire)

Well given mine's a PCI card(yes they still amke those) somehow I don't think I have to worry about SLI.

Appreciate the prompt response there(really looking to get a good gander at that one map that's apparently more of a 'hey look at all thsi stuff, light cycles, zoo, bar...fighting optional).

There would be no point. I don't know why Jademz gave you all that information when server IP addresses and ports can be transient, and those details are frankly unimportant. Because Tron 2.0's built-in server browser finds them all automatically anyway.
BTW Jademz, you might want to change your signature. We haven't been using the g2gm.net address for a couple of years now. 
Since Jademz already answered your question (yes, there are still multiplayer servers around run by the fans), all I'm going to add is make sure you've updated the game using the v1.042 patch before going online. Or else you won't be able to play multiplayer. All of the most important info and links can be found in the Mini-FAQ post stickied at the top of this forum section.

I just did it to make it look like I wasn't posting websites, and some newb says, "why are you listing websites for a game?" since I prefer to list related sites to the online crowd.
I didn't list the other servers I'm supporting through leet, which do have the CD check, lemme know if you can't get on, since I find this an interesting topic... "Dude Warez My Cycle" -fast and extreme speed.
