I like this one much better than the first one posted. Both good, but this one is just better to me.

Nah, that just doesn't do it for me; I much prefer the first one.

On that note, here's the link to the original high-resolution version on the CinemArcade website...you know, the site on the revolving logo at the very beginning of the video?

That's cool, but then you've always enjoyed disagreeing with me.

On some things, yes. But I don't disagree with you on everything, and I don't disagree with you just for the sake of disagreeing with you.

The one you posted is cool; in fact there is a little clue at the very beginning of the video that makes me think it was made by the same person who made the first one. It just didn't engender any deep feelings of nostalgia like the first one did, is what I'm saying. The first one has a certain je ne sais quoi, I guess.

And yes, I realize that this post is somewhat ironic.

Awww...of course I have _different_ nostalgic memories of this stuff than some of you here, but I can say that I liked the first video best (although the other two weren't bad either). Good song--I am not sure if I was familiar with that _particular_ one before, but naturally Journey makes sense for a forum full of TRON fans. :P

My memories of arcades in the '80s...I went to them when I was a little kid, not a teenager/young adult, and my dad had to pick me up so I could reach the controls yada yada you've heard this before. But it explains how I became a Girl Gamer before I even knew those were _supposed_ to be rare. I was raised that way from an impressionable age! If my dad had known that was gonna lead to my blowing all my saved allowance on a Nintendo or spending hours at a time playing the Sims or Civilization a decade or two down the road, he might not have taken me to that arcade.
But I'm glad he did.

Still, that particular '80s look/style brings back a certain...overall _feel_ for me that I can't quite describe. But it's...the City at Night, neon against darkness, a favourite rock song playing softly in the background, staying up late to play Coleco on my friend's system and hearing the adults playing D&D in the next room. It doesn't make me think of first loves or anything like that, but I'm glad I have these memories anyway.

I have fond memories of my dad taking me to the drug store to play pong. I had to stand on a chair and even then had to tippy-toe to reach the controls *lol*

I remember playing a few of the classic B&W games, Sea Wolf, Depthcharge, Night Driver, Canyon Bomber, Asteroids, & Space Invaders (of course). A few I don't remember the name of off hand, but there was the fire truck one, and a few driving games. I remember not liking Space War or Lunar Lander cuz I thought they were too hard *lol* It's too bad that not many gamers today know of those games. To them it like "First Pong came out, and then Asteroids..then Space Invaders...then Pac Man!! w00t!!"

The highlight of my summer was always the arcade tent at the county fair...they almost always had a Tron machine

When I think of those times, compared to now...it's just amazing to me.

If I ever win the lottery, I want to open an arcade..that would just rock

Black and white games...yeah. I don't think I directly remember any of those, but I've played some on an emulator now (and I _vaguely_ remember seeing at least one like that in an arcade when I was a little tiny kid) and they have their own distinct, kinda cool style. I dunno. I just think it's neat how it's like, futuristic and yet mininal. Well, I _would_ like that, I mean, come on, I'm a TRON fan. :P

Anyway. So if anybody would ever like

THIS picture, it's you guys. I've had it up on my DeviantArt for a long time now, and nobody has even looked at it. But I figure, you guys oughta be the types who would appreciated it.
