TheReelTodd Wrote: The clip is absurd and in that respect kind of funny. What bothers me is that I've always thought of TRON characters as really cool - from the concept to the costumes, etc. TRON comedy and humor is something I can dig. I'm used to people making fun of TRON and I'm not at all offended at jokes that poke fun of TRON - in fact, I often find them very humorous.
What gets me about this clip is that it is not TRON humor or supposed to be funny - it's actually supposed to be straight forward entertaining and "cool". To see people dancing around so silly, dressed in TRON costumes is... well, the proper word eludes me, but it doesn't work in my book. To see kiddie Disney characters dancing and prancing around like that works. With TRON characters, especially the TRON guards, it just looks ridiculous. I never thought of TRON as a kids movie - it is more of an all ages movie to me (although I fell in love with it as an 11 year old kid myself). The whole dance routine is beyond cartoony - it's absurdly silly. As a comedy - it would work, but it's not intended as such and therefore...

I think that this clip just shows how Disney had no clue whatsoever how to market the movie. They figured probably that because some parts of it were animated or whatever (and thus a kiddie movie ) they could just go ahead and use the characters from the film like they use the characters from every other animated film they ever made, all sing-y and dancey for the kiddies.

I find it silly because programs were never portrayed that way in the film. To see them out there dancing and "boogie-ing" to the Pointer Sisters is just kinda surreal and one can only chuckle at it.
It would be like having Harrison Ford's character from Blade Runner come out and dance the robot in front of Devo.

What's funny is I remember seeing this when it premiered on TV and even at the age of like 10 I was incredibly embarassed for all involved!
But, hey at least they have an electric version of Elliott from "Pete's Dragon" at the end to make all the pain go away!
Why couldn't Eddie Murphy have been in one of the Tron costumes, since "The Neutron Dance" was written for Beverly Hills Cop? where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online
