Bjork has been playing shows with someone manipulating this instrument on stage:

Don't be sorry for us Bjork fans...we GET it.
We feel sorry for people that don't get it. When you're older, you'll appreciate things you thought were silly when you were young.
Also, I don't think it's cool to bash something that others enjoy just because you don't understand it.

That's really cool, but it must be extremely difficult to master playing it. In the demos I watched, it was really all just noise and not music.
If someone could practice and become good at using this instrument, it certainly has some pretty serious potential.
Oh, and it certainly reminds you a bit of Tron doesn't it. Like something the programs would use in the electronic world.
Just for kicks . . . how about we go from the most advanced synthesizer, to one of the most primitive?

There's another freaky synthesizer for ya.

A co-worker and I are planning on building a theremin here at work.
They make small "pocket" versions that run pretty cheap, but from what I hear, they're not very accurate.
Did you know that the only theremin player registered in the Musician's Guild (sort of a musician's union) was Anton LaVey? For those that don't know, LaVey was the founder of the Church of Satan.
Other great synths that any electronic musician worth his microchips should check out are the Moog and the Arp. Google it.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Bjork is sure a unique animal from the little bit I've heard. I dont think my ears were made to understand the words, but thats ok!
When I saw that demo it did look really hard to make anything like pop music, but probably good for atmospheric or evolving techno tunes?
Here's my favorite synthesizer I think (Arp/Eminent 310 you mentioned) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solina, here's the ultimate sound you get from it http://www.soundboard.com/sb/Solina_String_Ensemble_so.aspx -- click on flanger #2. I've gone so far as digging through schematics to try to figure out how they got that sound, I can't seem to duplicate it.
Oh ya, I'm pretty sure you can get source code for that reactable. You hook up a web-cam more or less and start having fun.

I d/l the software for this, it doesnt look hard to set up. I've had it for a month, messed around with it, but I have actually thought for a while about making a symphonic map,(multiplayer Tron 2.0) which runs for a long period of time, based on the same idea, just in a multiplayer map, where the objects give each person the ability to make a juke box, all the map interacts. so others can do the same, I even have a design, but alas, no source.
What would be so cool, is if that were possible, alot of things would be. Uploading a library of tunes to run, ect....

Haaaaaaaa!
How cool is that thing?!
I think I saw a quick clip of that a while back, but just watched the whole "Basic Demo #2".
It's like an instrument from some sci-fi show or movie... only real. How fun it would be to play with that for a while.
