Ages ago I stated I was working on a Tron RPG. But after spending hours upon hours trying to work out rules to make the game flow and feel like Tron, I am sorry to say that I am not cut out for that job. I just couldnt make the game flow and it really felt like it just wasnt a game that would be enjoyable.
However seeing as I am teaching computers now at schools I want to keep up on my programming skills. So instead of making a Tron RPG I'll be making something else.
The Current project will be a Web based RPG, however this game will have no stats and no caluclating factors like my previous games. It will come down to simple detective skills of the gamers. The Game will be based on the "Death Note" Manga/Anime/Movie.
For people who do not know what Death Note is about here is a very basic and brief explination of the Manga.
Light Yagami descovers a note book with "Death Note" written on it. If the owner of the Death Note writes a persons name in the book they will die. Light decides to start killing off criminals while trying to aviod detection from the police.
The RPG is basically this, a player is randomly chosen to own the Death Note, they can use it however they wish. If they want to try and make money out of it they can. If they just want to use it to kill people off and rule the world they can. The RPG will be constantly developing and updates will be added depending on what owners of the Death Note decide to do with it.
Most of the Game rules are sorted and completed, just need the basic how to play rules. I am thinking of having the game play out in real time however the problem with this is that it would be very easy to narrow it down to who owns the Death Note. For instance if most of the players are in the US and the owner of the Death Note lives in the UK. It would be pritty easy to figure out who is the owner of the Note book.

I like Death Note too! But you forgot L. He's the best character! Don't you even respond to that last one Megabyte!

So any ideas on how I might go about this RPG?
like I said got most of the rules cracked its just things like do I play the game in real time or not?
