Pulsewoman, did you ever use to write (or still write) fiction as Mello by any chance?

I remember this awesome MST3K thread from a collaborative writing board a few years back that was started by someone with grammatical patterns that closely match yours.

You liked that one, huh? Erm, yeah....that was me...(hides) Eek! You caught me. The reason I'm "eek"ing is because it was a rather disreputable site that I wrote that stuff at. I'm not ashamed of what I _wrote_, but the fact that I was THERE takes some explaining, and some of my more strict/kiddy/G-rated friends on the 'net would probably be shocked into not wanting to be my friend anymore. So you can see why I try to restrict that information...

The deal is, I used to write on the original Addventure, Game 3: Endless Perspectives. But then it entered a long, long period of what we _thought_ was gonna be "temporary" downtime. (It's now just permanently broken; I'm surprised the site is still up at all anymore.) While we were waiting around, somebody on the mailing list put a link to that other site, and even though it didn't sound like my kind of site I was still in Addicted to Addventure mode, so I went there.
To my surprise, my very first post on that other Addventure got responded to--and not in a couple _weeks_ at least like what usually happened at Game 3, but like HOURS later! Naturally that was addictive so I ended up sticking around for a long time, writing multiple storylines, etc. I actually became kind of one of the more respected writers there. (Also one of the more _controversial_, but that's the way I always am.) My MST3K-thread main character, Sandy Corman, was even nominated for Best New Character of the Year!

To bring this back on topic before I get into trouble, didja know that at the original Addventure, where I usually wrote as "Notorious" (or sometimes Mistress Control Program, or The Notorious (Other Thing Here)), I did a big, long, elaborate...TRON-based thread? Yep. It's my crowning achievement there. (Well, the Death Gate Cycle one was also good, but that's the last one I was writing before the site went PHUT, so I wasn't able to finish it.) I had serious fun writing it.

If you go there, to Game 3, then go to the "Linkable episodes by name" list, and type in "program" for a search parameter, _most_ of the episodes with that word in their name were by me, it seems. (laughs). Not all, but at least like 80%.
The thing is, however, that when I wrote the TRON-thread, I didn't know that you could use HTML for line-breaks in Addventure. (I knew _how_ to use HTML; I just didn't know it was allowed _there_.) So all the episodes of that look like Paragraphs That Ate Chicago.

I have, however, gone and archived those, put them into new text files on one of my websites and spiffed them up with proper HTML and even a snazzy "new" (heheh) colour scheme, so if anybody wants to read it...my link would be better. It's way more readable.

Anyway. Ceasing operations of output terminal...

Stefi, I remember her! I think I sketched a picture of her once. What was your usual name there, by the way? There's also like, _one_ episode of a TRON-thread at that site, too, but it's not by me. It's by Conrad Volkov, who is easily one of the best writers there, luckily. Nobody ever continued it, though...
I tended to change my name around to fit the circumstances on that site, but yeah, my "main" identity was Mello.

As for the Addventure thingie, I suggest you go to Game 3 (you can find it by typing "addventure" into Wikipedia, if you like--the original Addventure's homepage is the first one linked) and read it a bit, like, well, a lot. You need to at least meet Scott, Miranda, Bruce/Prisoner, Emilia and Bishop Cahail so you'll know who the phrack they are in my storyline. You can also scan around and look for some more of my own stuff, but eh. There's a listing on there somewhere of my episodes, but it was done before the Death Gate Cycle* storyline, which is a shame...I worked hard on that one.

Anyway. Ya think I should post the link to the Tron-thread here, or in the fanfic forum? That one might be more appropriate. And to all the mods and anyone else I might be annoying by going this far off topic for this long, I apologise. Sorry.

*"Death Gate Cycle" is a very well-written (in my opinion) fantasy series of 7 books that all hold together as one story, by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. And it ROCKS. Any remotely serious fantasy/sci-fi fan should look it up.

Volkov here. I stopped writing for a number of reasons, but can probably pick it up now that said reasons are mostly behind me. How are ya?

And yes, please do link to it -- I no longer have it.

Link to...what? My Addventure thread or the one that you started at the other site? (is confused)

So, you're Volkov...huh. Now that, I didn't figure out. You figured me, but then I've been told I have a very distinctive writing style and get recognised every way from Sunday regularly. Although whether it's "distinctive" good or "distinctive" bad is up to the individual. :P

Anyway. I stopped writing there, too, because...well, you were there. I probably won't go back, because I'm so far behind on everything now if for no other reason. And I'm busy with stuff, don't really need to add another thing to the list.

We should seriously shut up on this before we're both yelled at for having what should've been PM discussion and this thread gets edited, derezzed or locked, though. :P

Mainly the fact that I don't know how to do so (if you do, please tell!), and also the fact that I'd rather use content made by fans. I'm especially looking for building and terrain models and textures right now...

I'm also looking for help about differentiating the four factions -- specifically, what infantry should each have, and what weapons could you buy for it? Any help greatly appreciated in that respect.

Finally, I'm looking for a Super Light Cycle mesh, and any 3d meshes that "do" early videogame spaceships (I already have Defender and Gradius) for the dogfight map.

Another update, also at

http://67.15.245.144/bz2scrap/tron_standalone.zip

Remember to delete the stuff you already have, and replace with this (I moved some directories around). Not much new, a bit of cleanup mostly (for example, your blaster will fire a beam corresponding to your army's color). Also, the "Interface" panel inside one of the two little bunkers on the main building gives you access to an overhead strategy view, same as the command tank.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion
